My name is Donald Little; I am the Director of Safety and Efficiency for G-Bio Sports. We have two employees by the name of Jamal Moore and Aaron Webb that are involved in two different dilemmas that may be compromise to the company and its IT system Aaron was able to leak information that was confidential to the company onto his home computer. Jamal was able to locate the leak and now he has hacked into Aaron’s computer seeing into his personal business. These are two very good employees and they are an asset to the company, now I am faced to deal with them. There are several people to who will be affected by my decision, so I must deal with this carefully. The ones that will be affected will be the Board of Directors, Chief Legal Officer, I, Director of Human Resources, and the two employees. An individual such as me with my position needs to handle the situation according to company policy and not jeopardize my position within the company. Aaron felt as though he was not wrong because he felt he had the right to free expression, not knowing that once it was on his home computer the public had access to the company’s confidential information which made it critical to the company. As far as Jamal we are glad he found the leak it was that he went about it the wrong way and illegally hacked into Aaron’s computer, which is against company policy. I cannot praise Jamal for what he did, even though he solved the problem he broke the rules and if he can do this to Aaron’s computer he can do this to another employee. He performed his job to the fullest; he just went about it the wrong way. Yes I will be using the information that Jamal has given me to discipline Aaron but he will have to be dealt with also for his illegal activity. I will be discussing this with Human Resources and maybe together we can come up with a reasonable solution. If this is made public and it gets back to the company leaders, I would want it to have a positive effect on the company. In return I want everyone to feel at ease with their position within the company and cease to break any laws. I will be using the information from Jamal to discipline Aaron for violating the company policy and I will also caution Jamal for his illegal activity so that both men will remain with the company.

I am now in a new position as Associate Director of Operations. We have just installed a new photo ID system and now an angry employee has broken into the lab and trashed the area tremendously. Realizing the problem I see we have a breach of security and that we need to go over our company’s policy. I figured we need to adjust the policy concerning the ID badges so that other employees can feel safe and that we can meet their needs. I will be consulting with the Board of Directors and explaining the situation. I will also be consulting with the individual that does the hiring and training, and to the employees who are already working for the company. As Director of Operations I am going to make sure each individual is treated fairly under these conditions. I would not want to violate anyone rights in this matter, so I will be explaining the process in a meeting with the employees, so that I may hear their suggestions or opinions on the subject. As a result we may be putting a new policy in our handbook, and all employees will be given notice of the policy as well as new employees. There will be no exceptions once the policy is put into effect We will be adjusting the ID system where certain individuals are allowed in certain areas. There are some areas that only allow our management team to enter which needs to be strictly prohibited from other employees. The management team will have different ID badges from the other employees so that they may be allowed to enter these restricted areas. All employees are held liable for their ID badges and must report it immediately if they are lost or stolen. They must return them upon termination of employment.
