Refection of My core values Individual values are our core beliefs, values, and ideas that we look about life, its drive, and our own purpose. For instance we grow up, we take on board the individual values of others around us up to we reach the teen-age years and start to accept or discard such values as being a part of who we are,. Instead of just accepting those values that remained ingrained in us by close relative, instructors, and culture, we want to stop, take a look at ourselves, identify our values, and implement them into our lives.. I have many core values, such as in family. Family means a lot to me because they are there for me. My loved ones care deeply about what is best for me. I would do anything for them. When my wife gave birth to our wonderful son, I as a person has changed. Since I am a new father who needs to show my son the way of life and right from wrong, this experience has changed the way I live and the things I do. Honesty is one of my favorites because you have to have honesty to achieve thing in life. You don’t want to live your life in lies the old saying is you can remember the truth but you can’t remember a lie. Honesty goes a long way . I do not like when I am lied to it really gets at me and it breaks my trust with you .it really hard to gain my trust wonts its gone. honesty is the best thing you can do in any profession. . Faith I have faith in a lot of thing . GOD is number one . I have faith in him in everything I do. Everything happens for a reason. And if you want something you got to have faith that it will happen if you work hard at it. People acquire and change values on life changes and experiences. For example when you have a child, it changes your life style and the things you do, or

Response to Seven Habits

...especial for an effective leader who wants to lead and take shape a wining organizations. Firstly, Covey explains the definition of habit that is the intersection of knowledge, skill and desire and 7 habits need to be paid more attention. As the writer’s said “7 habits move us progressively on a continuum form dependence to independence to interdependence.” In the meanwhile, different habit cope with different aspect and habit 1, 2 and 3 are collectively referred to as private victory and habit 4, 5 and 6 concern on public victory that deal with teamwork cooperation and communication. The last one is the habit of continuous improvement. In the following content, I am going to introduce the influence on me for each habit and how to apply them to my real social life. Habit 1: Be Proactive According to the analysis of Covey, he points out that habit 1 actually is the ability of control and initiative, which human beings can manage specific environment rather than dominate by it. I have same feeling to his opinion as there are many kinds of circumstances to be met in people’s annual life and have different self-determination, choice and the power to decide response to stimulus, conditions and circumstances. Furthermore, I really appreciate what he has said that although real environment may not be controlled by people, they can decide how to response and use specific environment and they live by the “principles of personal vision.” For...

Masculinity in Chuck Palahniuk's Work

...Introduction Mass culture would have most readers and viewers believing that the Post-modern American male is a simple creature. Common stereotypes margin male satisfaction in a minimal setting – a Lazyboy armchair in a lounge with a flat screen TV playing ‘the game’ along with primal banter regarding women. More often than not, this is washed down with a beer. With this array of comfort and leisure we are inclined to believe that male lifestyle has reached its peak on the timeline of satisfaction. This was until David Fincher took Chuck Palahniuk’s novel Fight Club and made it into a big budget Hollywood blockbuster. With the male demographic being the hardest to pinpoint in the literature sense, David Fincher’s adaptation helpfully put Palahniuk’s thoughts into the cinematic forefront. This increased the popularity of Palahniuk’s other works and placed him in the cannon of Post-modern American fiction. It is the issues of modern masculinity that grasps critics’ attention more so than any other Palahniuk themes. It is very apparent that masculinity has changed as a natural progression of modernisation. This dissertation will analyse masculinity as it is depicted in Palahniuk’s writings and explore Palahniuk’s intentions and beliefs. I will interpret the responses of select critics in order to gain some understanding of what Palahniuk deems to be the ideal model of masculinity in the modern world, beneath his post-modern twists, transgressive characterization and...

Dear Student: Reproduction of copyrighted material, without prior permission of the copyright owner, particularly in an educational setting, is an issue of concern for the academic community. Unfortunately, the impropriety of much unauthorized copying is all too often overlooked by users in an educational setting. Although copying all or part of a work without obtaining permission may appear to be an easy and convenient solution to an immediate problem, such unauthorized copying can frequently violate the rights of the author or publisher of the copyrighted work, and be directly contrary to the academic mission to teach respect for ideas and the intellectual property that expresses those ideas. With that in mind, the University Bookstore has sought permission and paid royalties for all materials enclosed. The price of your reader reflects those necessary costs.
