CHAPTER 3
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY This chapter visualizes the techniques and methods that will be utilized by the researchers in completing this study. This chapter contains: research design, respondents, instruments, and techniques to be use in the study like questionnaire, interviews, and observation which will be discussed in the latter part of this chapter.

RESEARCH DESIGN The researchers will use the descriptive method of this study. The descriptive method is used to describe characteristics of a population being studied. It does not answer the questions about how/when/why the characteristics occurred. Rather it answers the “what” question.

RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY The respondents of the study were 80 HRM students in CSTA, enrolled in the academic year 2013-2014, from first year to fourth year.

SAMPLING TECHNIQUE In order to gather the necessary information needed for the research, the researchers used the random sampling technique.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT To gather the necessary data needed for the study, the researcher employed the following instruments:
1. Questionnaire This was the main source of the data gathered. It contained set of specific questions to draw specific response from the respondents to answer the problems stated in Chapter 1. The questionnaire was employed because it is one of the most effective techniques by which information from other people could be obtained. The respondents were asked to check a blank, which corresponds their answer to the questions.
2. Survey Survey is the secondary source of data and will be used to answer the questions detailed on the statement of the problem page. This way, we will be able to get a more factual data.
3. Observation Observation will be used to have a direct and indirect approach to where the study will take place.

CONSTRUCTION OF THE INSTRUMENTS The researcher formulated the concept of his study by reading articles, studies, bulletins, literatures about or related to course-related activities of the course Bachelor of Science Major in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

VALIDATION OF INSTRUMENTS The revised questionnaire was pre-tested to twenty (20) HRM students of Colegio de Sta. Teresa de Avila who were not among the target sample. The purpose of validation is to find out if there are terminologies and questions that need revisions for better understanding of the target to produce great results. The result was used as the basis for more improvement on the instrument.

ADMINISTRATION AND RETRIEVAL The researcher secured the approval of the dean of HRM department, asking for permission to distribute the questionnaire to the target respondents. After having granted permission, the researcher floated the questionnaire and was able to retrieve the filled in copies 100 percent.

STATISTICAL TREATMENT To interpret information that was gathered from the survey, the researchers will use the following formula: Frequency and Percentage Distribution This was used in dealing with the data on the profile of the respondents. Formula: P = F/N x 100

Wherein: F = frequency N = population P = percentage This utilized the number indicating the relative position of an individual score per 100, scores ranged in a graded series. Weighted Mean
This was utilized in computing the data revealed by questions number 3, 4 and 5. To qualify the responses on the rating scale, the five point Likert scale method of measuring attitudes was used. Each statement has five responses, which were classified under the degree of frequency with weights of 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1.
The respondents were asked to react to every perception item by checking one out of five possible answers or responses. Thus, the score was the sum of the weight of the responses checked.
Formula:
Wx = fx/N Where: Wx = weighted mean fx = sum of all the products N = sum of all respondents The descriptive interpretations of the weighted mean are: SCALE VERBAL DESCRIPTION 4.50 – 5.0 Strongly Agree 3.50 – 4.49 Agree 2.50 – 3.49 Undecided 1.50 – 2.49 Disagree 1.0 – 1.49 Strongly Disagree

This thesis tries to complement the Uppsala model with Porter's theories regarding internationalisation. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to study to what extent the Uppsala model is applicable to a small manufacturing firm, and to see if the theory, combined with the Porterian framework, can provide a more solid framework for the description of the internationalisation process of the firm. Method: The master thesis is based on one personal interview with the CEO of the study object, Bukowski design. Results: The internationalisation process of the firm can to some extent be explained using the Uppsala model. It is, however, valuable to complete the picture with, for example, Porter’s theories, that permit a deeper understanding. - Nyckelord Keyword Internationalisation, competitive advantage, international strategy, establishment chain, risk, Bukowski design, Peter Gustavsson - Avdelning, Institution Division, Department Ekonomiska...

Some of the things you can do and not a victim yet is to monitor your credit and keeping your information safe. We talked about not only making sure your information is safe when you’re out in the public, such as only carrying one credit card when you really need it, not carrying your social security card and birth certificate just to name a few, We don’t need to have these things with us everyday. Just keep the common things you need with you every day, like your drive’s license, one credit card, just to be safe. Don’t carry your checking account if you don’t need to write a check because again someone could take that information and really start writing checks that aren’t yours and can start causing a lot of damage down the road. Another things is when you’re checking credit, make sure that you’re checking it on a regular basis. You can get one free copy of your credit report from each of the three credit bureaus each year. So if you want to check that systematically, you could pull your first one from Equifax, and then three or four months later pull the next one from Experian, and then three or four months later pull the next one from Trans Union. So keeping...
