Statement of Research Problem
How to choose right technology to best develop a software? How the resulted analysis drive the project? Will the technology supports the system and easy to integrate the different modules?

Deciding the Right platform and application development environment to develop a software and doing the right analysis which best develops the system provided the right resources. Selecting the right technology not only helps to best develop the system but also to provide necessary assistance and training for the deployed product later. This coheres the importance of analyzing the technologies before entering the development phase.
Many systems fail or delayed because of not selecting the right technology for their projects in different stages like development, data Integration, Support, Training etc. For this we select different software solutions, analyze the problem and the selected technologies to solve that. Observing the development time. Measuring the maintenance costs and support capabilities.
Example:
A web application for online bus ticket booking system which is developed on different platforms by different software companies or individuals. We collect the information like duration for developing the system, resources and costs for developing the system, the support capabilities and compatibilities to the previous versions if existing any and other risks in integrating the modules.
To start with the research, one has to put the following questionnaire or tests for the technology
i. Will the technology pertain in any condition i.e., platform independent. ii. Is it easy to integrate the modules? iii. Will it provide good support and training? iv. Understandability and easiness of the software etc.
Why did we select this topic?
As we are Information technology students and future potential developers. It is quintessential to decide on the technology and the highs and lows of a technology before entering the development phase. Referencing the solutions to the problem while meeting the clients, it is important to have a set of technologies/development environment in mind to deliver solution software for the client's problem. It not only helps the project delivery but also helps us grow as a analyzer.
Taking it as a research topic also helps study the current trends in software technologies and the software development phases and strategies. Problems that a developer faces and things that need to be kept in mind to process. This study gives us the right way to approach the right technique to develop the software and read the efficiencies of different technologies.

Literature Review
Productivity in Software Projects
It has almost been a decade since the software industry has detonated. It has witnessed a remarkable growth and a tremendous escalation not only in the core activities but also in the IT enabled services. Despite the uninterrupted expansion, the software industry still has the highest number of project delays and failures. In 100% success rate of software, only 68 % was challenged and failed, remaining 15 – 38% software projects were canceled due to some reasons like schedule slippage, cost over runs or failure to meet the project goals.
Software development projects are collections of larger programmers with many interactions and functional dependencies. It involves a creation of a product that has never been created before although the development processes are similar among other projects. As a result, software development projects have a dismal track-record of cost and schedule overruns and quality and usability problems. Further, it becomes very difficult to predict the success of project because the scope of the project keeps changing depending upon the market; hence the resources have to be re-allocated leading to schedule slippage and cost overruns. Many software projects involve multiple entities such as companies, divisions, etc., that may have varying interests. There is often a feeling of disconnection between software developers and their management, each believing that the others are out of touch with reality resulting in misunderstanding and lack of trust.
The success and failure of a software project is broadly assessed in three dimensions 1. Choosing a right technology for right software development i.e. product performance 2. Cost - refers to any or part of the project‘s materials, supplies or external contracts. 3. Time – refers to any part of the project schedule, including the duration of individual tasks, milestones and deadlines.

The developer‘s success criteria of the software project are:

a) Reaching customer satisfaction confirmed with timely payments,
b) Matching the time to market demands,
c) Building the product of high maintainability and reusability.
d) Substantial learning that can be applied to the future projects.
Software Development Life Cycle
The most important phases of software developments are 1. Requirement Gathering 2. Requirement Analysis 3. System Analysis and Design 4. Code Generation 5. Testing 6. Deployment 7. Support, Maintenance and Enhancement
This are the seven steps in which the choosing the right technology for development of a software. There are many technologies in market like JAVA, .Net, python, Ruby etc. We can chooses any of the following technology but major factors we need to consider are Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
We consider the factors, which explained in the literature Productivity in Software Projects. We added a new factors which are Risk and Organization Climate.
Risk –
Usually risk exposure is usually measured in dollars or time in commercial projects. With a formula risk is equal to product of probability of software success to impact or magnitude of loss.
Taking a Risk is viewed as a part of creative process.
Organization Climate –
Cumulative research demonstrates that employee climate perceptions have important effects on both individual and organizational outcomes, such as work attitudes and satisfaction, job performance, service quality, customer satisfaction, workplace accident rates, TQM outcomes, and organizational financial performance, among other things.
Quantitative Analysis
We took a software, Library Management System. Library Management System has two thing Frontend and Backend. Frontend is the graphical user interface and backend is the database.
For Quantitative analysis we took factors, 1. Time 2. Cost 3. Risk
We will conduct an experiment for Quantitative Analysis by doing an interview methodology.

Experiment for Quantitative Analysis,
We will take two groups A & B, we assign a module in library management system. Time given to two group will be one week, Cost as variable.

Case 1,
In this case Cost is variable and Time (one week) as constant for two group.
Group A choose a technology to develop module is .NET.
Group B choose a technology to develop module is JAVA.
We provide as many facilities, in terms of cost for developing the module. At the end of a week, we will call two group leads, for interview about the module progress and we compare two team progress with respect to time.

Case 2,
In this case Cost is constant and Time as variable for two group.
Group A choose a technology to develop module is .NET.
Group B choose a technology to develop module is JAVA.

Case3,
