• What feedback did you receive from the Center for Writing Excellence, your peer reviewer, and your facilitator?
The feedback that I received from the Center for Writing Excellence, My peer reviewer, and my facilitator was positive and negative. The Center for Writing Excellence said that my paper was 46% plagiarized, and that is a serious issue in the school laws. My teacher informed me that I will need to be changing my paper and summarizing it up into my own words. She explained to me the policy of the school and how serious the offense is of plagiarism. My peer review went well and I got a lot of positive feedback from it. She said that I touched on some good points in the paper and had some good counter arguments. She also stated that there were some parts that I should leave out, or maybe rewrite, because they may chase some of the audience members away. The way that I wrote it may be too harsh for someone that is suffering from the problem, so I may need to look into rewriting some particular areas. There were also some areas that she said her and many other people could relate to, because mostly everybody has a family member that is suffering from drugs. I would say the feedback I got will be useful to help me have a successful paper.

• Explain what feedback you will incorporate and what feedback you will not incorporate into your paper. Include a rationale for your choices.
The feedback I got from my peer review and my teacher will all be used in a positive way to help me have a very successful persuasive essay. All the feedback that I received will be helpful for me, and I will incorporate as much it as I can. To me no feedback is useless, unless someone is being bias and hateful towards you and your work. I did not see any of that coming from my teacher or my peer, so all the feedback will be incorporated into my paper. The negative feedback is what I really needed to see most because those are the areas that I need to improve at to make my paper successful. The plagiarism is the first thing that I have to tackle and make sure it doesn’t happen in my final draft, so I won’t receive a bad grade, or maybe a 0. I also need to add more information in my paper as far as where people with problems can get help, and more examples of how drugs are detrimental to the society. I also need to work on getting my formatting to concur with the APA guidelines, because I don’t want points taken off from something that should be so simple.

• What role do feedback and other writing tools play in the revision process? Provide examples.
The role that feedback and other writing tools play on a college level is like being someone’s best friend or soul mate. If not for these tools incorporated into the school system then how does one even pass a class or have any guidance of how to write a paper. With something so simple like the grammar checker is a big help when writing a paper. You’re writing or typing your paper so fast that no matter how good you are at writing, you are bound to make a spelling error. We have spell check that has our back like a good friend would when you need some help. We have the plagiarism checker that will show you if you made any mistakes by copying somebody else’s work and not giving them credit for it. There are also quiz and skill drills that you may do to help you keep sharp on your grammar. Then we have the peer review that allows your peers to read your paper before you turn it in and help you out with any mistakes that they see that you may have missed. All these tools will help play a part when it comes to revising your essay.

...Reading Unit Research essay confirmed that I have failed to address that my skills are limited in writing a research paper. Over the course of this assignment I accumulated a respectable amount of data and learned more strategies than I illustrated. I failed to apply concepts from Dr. Case English 3640, Writing in a Second language, class that I had learned. I printed out and read half a dozen articles conducive to the topic of teaching reading. I annotated, highlighted, brainstorming the main ideas, while considering the supporting ideas that can work in my paper. I drew mind maps, four of them to be exact, as the drafting progress and found myself trying to explain Chomsky and Krashen theories after I had sold my soul to Miller....

Study Based on Existing Study

...Study Based on Analysis of Existing Study Methodist College English 201 When writing compositions revision is an extremely important part of the process. Revision strategies can help by providing different approaches in terms of spelling and proofreading. Research has shown that people learn and absorb information differently. It is highly probable that when someone writes any type of composition they could benefit from using different revision strategies. In 2011, TEFLL Department, Faculty of Foreign Languages published a research study written by Professors Mojgan Rashtchi and Mojdeh Ghandi titled “Writing Revision Strategies: Do they Enhance Writing Ability”. The purpose of Professor Rashtchi and Professor Ghandi study was to investigate whether three types of revision strategies peer revision, self-revision enforced by checklist revision as compared to teacher revision have any significant impact on the writing ability of Iranian EFL (English as Foreign Language) learners. (Rashtchi & Ghandi, 2011) They want to impart that revising is an important part of the writing process and that using different revision strategies help produce better written compositions, communication and critical thinking skills. ...of library/research work? Offer specific examples from work you completed as part of this class that demonstrates that you have achieved this goal. The most important thing I learned was that the library is so much more than a place to borrow books and study for midterms/finals. First, there is a librarian assigned to your major which is extremely helpful because they are like a mini expert on many of the topics you may need help on. Second, there are many databases with sources that are available online to Fisher students, which can help when doing any type of written submission for a class. Finally, I learned that Rochester has such a vast history that I knew absolutely nothing about before I stepped foot in the class. I used Kate Ross a few times to help locate additional sources for my project. I also used ProQuest extensively for newspaper articles I could use as sources, and I also used the State of Black Rochester book we had for class. 2. The second goal of DEPT 199 is to teach you how to analyze and incorporate research into your own argument, position, solution to a problem, or answer to a question. In what ways does your final research paper (the final draft) demonstrates your developing skill in connection with this goal? Point to specific places in the final paper where your arguments, though uniquely your own, have been developed in conversation with research that you have completed. My final research paper analyzes...

The paper was organized by writing an outline based on the criteria given from the professor. The composition of the paper began by answering the questions in short answer form. Descriptive Research

...Texas A&M University – Commerce Department of Engineering & Technology TMGT 595 – Applied Research in Engineering & Technology Descriptive Research Study & Final Manuscript Each student will select a research topic of their choice appropriate to their degree field (technology management, safety management, or management information systems). Research topics must be submitted and approved by the instructor. A research question will be formulated for the topic and a descriptive archival study will be conducted. A descriptive study does not seek to show causal effects rather it is used to establish what currently exists. Data collection is commonly performed with surveys, questionnaires, standardized tests, or other direct observation instruments. The time limitation within the course does not permit a full descriptive study to be conducted. Rather than developing instruments and collecting actual data (which should not be done), each student will utilize data and findings from related published studies to establish what currently exists for a given phenomenon. The study will culminate in the preparation of a research paper suitable for publication. Each student will investigate and identify a journal that would be appropriate for their research paper topic. Note: The paper does not have to actually be submitted for publication. ------------------------------------------------- Each assignment is to be a unique and individual project. Students...

A commentary will help you write critically about a topic and will help you analyze this topic within a larger societal context. Audience: Your audience for this paper should be one who has a stake in the topic. For example, if you are discussing your understanding of a topic like ISTEP testing, your audience could be administrators. Genre: For this paper, your genre is in the form of a commentary. Stance: Your stance should be formal in that you are writing to an academic audience who will be making meaning of your topic. However, you may use the pronoun “I” to discuss your position. Media/Design: This paper should be typed and take the form of an essay: 4-6 pages, double spaced, Times New Roman, with title page. • Give readers something to react to, think about or use to make sense of topic. • You will not use an objective tone or take a neutral stance; you have a perspective. • You are attempting to analyze and explain what is going on around you. • You are asking your readers to consider one possible way of making sense of what has happened in the past and what is going on in the present. • Your readers want a satisfying account of our shared experience and to find patterns of meaning that can make the world make more sense. • Approach your readers as co-thinkers, you are asking them to look at...
