Introduction In this assignment, it will firstly analyse the difference between various data sources and then it will evaluate both pros and cons in each source. Finally ,I will summarize which source I prefer and which is suitable for a available type of information. I have chosen my topic which I will enable use a wide quantity of information sources.Therefore,I will show the topic as I am posing for dissertation purposes,it is as follow; “The impact of the Internet on customer relationship marketing strategy in banking sector in the UK” I have chosen this topic about the impact of correlation between the Internet and customer in banking industry because there is plenty of wide information in different sources in order to compare advantages and disadvantages.However,I have chosen topic that specific about Customer Relationship between Bank sector and Internet and also looking for the impact of the Internet influence to customer relationship. Moreover,I have specified more narrow about the scope of my research just in the UK to understand clearly.Therefore,each data source which I have used should be very update and focus just only on the UK. Therefore ,I have aimed advantage from the quality of data sources ,namely Business Source Premier/Ebdco(BSP),Nexis UK,Google Scholar and Guardian newspaper to research my topic. Online Databases First step for this resource is to access the Sheffield Hallam Shuspace website,I then log on in order to search information in ‘library gateway’.There are a plenty of reliable information related to my topic.In there I am going to use ‘Subject guides’ function of the gateway (Business and Management),then I chose sub-tab on the top (Journals and newspapers).This provides me a number of important journals and newspapers for business and management and also cover knowledge of this topic .Consequently, I prefer to search information from Business Source Premier (Ebsco) and Nexis. Business Source Premier (Ebsco) Ebsco,there are various full text business database covering business sources premier and especially it is likely included academic journal relevant to my topic. This information source has a number of key strength when I search in. First of all, there are a variety of searching ways such as Basic Search , Advanced Search , Visual Search and Search History .I have chosen Advanced Search because this way is very easy to search and also find particular information. In addition, there are primarily three boxes to search in which I can specific my detail of searching more deep, plus you can add more as u wish.This source will show the result of searching according to peer refined and publication date and source type. Furthermore, I have focused on the date of publication from 2007 to 2013 because academic research should bring up to date. Around this period time there are a number of some interesting academic journals related to banking industry in the UK.Moreover,I still have to find more specific detail about the impact of the Internet on Customer relationship. I try to reach some useful information from this site by identifying some key words or phrases from my topic regarding to: Internet banking Customer United Kingdom As a result of this searching, they’re provided a large of journals, but all of them should be involve to my topic. Most interesting, there is one article, which is most likely to connect my topic, both content and a suitable period time as “Antecedents and Consequences of service quality in consumer evaluation of self service Internet technology ”, and it was published in 2008.In addition, it represents an analysis of influence from using the internet on perceived British consumer banking by questionnaire through email. Also,it contains several tables that demonstated the difference measurement instrument in evaluation the impact of the internet in banking sector that lead greatly reader more understand clearly. Another article found titled as “Internet Banking in the UK : Why are there not more customer?” (White and Nteli ; 2004)
Both of these journals would be useful to answer my topic about the impact of the Internet on customer relationship in particular UK industry. Both of which can compare each information.
In my opinion,I would rather to gather information Ebsco than Nexis sources because there are a number of specific information and their interface is easily access.
Defect and the difference between both are in Ebsco can identify the date of publish to be narrow information.
Nexis
This data source is contained the large of news and business resource from International publications. Moreover, Nexis’s function is quite similar to Ebsco to adding field to search more specific detail as u want.
When I searched in Nexis,I try to search information as same key words as Ebsco method.There always provide a wide of result information approximately 900 resources,so I have to modify kind of searching more specific and extra terminology which subsequently made the number of esults being returned fall drastically.
From these result which I have found Nexis,I aimed the benefit from this article entitled
“Internet Banking Security Strategy searching customer trust”(Unknown, 2012)
In this article,it have analysed with regard to the perceived security in using Internet banking of British customer.However,this still relevant to my topic …..
Merits
There are obviously advantages from using Nexis sources,for example I can easily reach a large of quality articles and journals which directly relevant to my topic.All information are arranged by a type of particular information and period time that it approach conveniently information which I wish . Furthuremore ,this academic source is quite reliable and can trust and can be cited by reference academic researchers,so I can make sure this information be correct and also reliable.
Moreover,I can show result style of information and also sort of information such as most relevant to my searching or sequence by time publish.
Therefore,Nexis data resource has become one of the interesting information and easily search to access a piece of information you wish.Also,the cost of information is not expensive and flexible.
Defect
There are clearly disadvantages when using Nexis to search information.Because this database source provides a amount large of information,the result of searching is also vast when compare searching as same key words as Ebsco. Consequently,it is not perfectly relate to my topic and you have to identify particular words or add more vocabularies to search again to get answer your topic.
Another major defect that sometimes some articles contain just summary and information might not be available or necessary to pay money to get full article and most importantly,having limited time to view their information.
Internet Sources
There are no one deny that the Internet source has become one of the most useful tools to access a large quantities of information, plus there are nothing what you can not find by browsing the internet. However, there are both pros and cons,it depends on person who can choose the appropriate correct information.In this assignment,I have chosen Google Scholar search engine to answer same purpose as I mentioned in online databases.
Google Scholar
This source is a subset of the large Google search engine for searching scholarly documents on World Wide Web.There are quite similar searching style as Online database in which explain before.But Google Scholar is presented by one box simple search box.
“Google Scholar will become an excellent free tool for scholarly information discovery and retrieval.” (Jacso ; 2004)
I was able to find answer on my topic through Google Scholar.They present a plenty of academic information related to my topic.However,I have aimed the most useful one which was an article titled ;

Google Scholar have listed a various different type of information related to my topic,plus their interface is similar to Google search engine,so using this source is so quickly and easy to find my answer.In addition,it can directly coordinate with the University library website to get full text of document,so it is very useful.

Defect
-As you known from I described previously,Google Scholar have contained only one search box that you have to try to combine with a variety of keywords to access information you wish.Also,you should have more experience and understand Google’s search work such as Boolean ,Quotation and so on
-The result of search return a number of pages of information as I applied early ,many of which might not irrelevant to my areas,also using this source might make waste a lot of time to read of pages of result.Therefore,u should choose key words wisely.
-Google Scholar ‘s information will reveal only an abstract or some parts,not full text ,therefore if you would like to get full article,you will have to pay money.
-Using this source,it is very important to judge which the appropriate document is and also this information have to come from a reliable source.
