RICE PRODUCTION IN INDIA AND FACTORS AFFECTING ITS PRODUCTIVITY

INTORDUCTION: Oryza Sativa, it is believed, is associated with wet, humid climate. The rice plant may have originated in southern India, then spread to the north of the country and then onwards to China. It then arrived in Korea, the Philippines and then Japan and Indonesia. India is one of the world's largest producers of white rice and brown rice, accounting for 20% of all world rice production. Rice is India's pre-eminent crop, and is the staple food of the people of the eastern and southern parts of the country. Rice is one of the chief grains of India. Moreover, this country has the biggest area under rice cultivation, as it is one of the principal food crops. It is in fact the dominant crop of the country. Rice is the basic food crop and being a tropical plant, it flourishes comfortably in hot and humid climate. Rice is mainly grown in rain fed areas that receive heavy annual rainfall. That is why it is fundamentally a kharif crop in India. It demands temperature of around 25 degree Celsius and above and rainfall of more than 100 cm. Rice is also grown through irrigation in those areas that receives comparatively less rainfall. Indian rice production largely depends on monsoon rains and only 59 per cent rice area has assured irrigation. So monsoon’s performance also plays an important role in the productivity.

LITERATURE REVIEW: The importance of the study is evident as several papers that made a detailed study regarding paddy production were published. Some of the studies dealt with productivity and fertilizer use, farm size, land holdings etc., in the Indian context. Several policy implications and insurance claim studies are carried out. Studies were conducted viz., on the use of High Yielding Varieties (HYV), the types of rice grown, the export scenario.

METHODOLOGY: The study uses secondary data collected from various published sources, viz. irrigation facility, Rainfall, Productivity state wise etc. were taken from various volumes of the Input Surveys published by Indiastats.com, Data Government of India (GOI). In this document, rice/ paddy has been used interchangeably. The analytical measures like simple tabular analysis is adopted. Regression approach will be adopted in analyzing relation between rainfall and productivity. In this study, to make data compatible, some states statistics were merged. The country’s rice produce will be analysed by dividing it into five zones:  North-eastern  Northern  Eastern  Western  Southern A descriptive analysis and comparative study is carried for the data. The dispersion and correlation of data will be carried out. The dependence of paddy production and rainfall is checked by examining the case in different states. A hypothesis testing will be carried to support the result.

Technical Resume

...When an employer looks at your resume, you've got about 6-10 seconds to make a good impression. To capture the reader's attention, you need to be clear and to-the-point. Be Organized and Logical In addition to reviewing your experience, employers also use the resume to sense whether you are organized, logical, and concise. Make sure your resume is balanced, neat, visually appealing, and flows consistently. Clearly separate sections and emphasize section titles. Keep a Positive Tone Your resume should present you in the best possible light. If you don't possess every skill an employer is seeking, do not emphasize your shortcomings. Focus on what you can offer. Combine Sections When Possible Try to combine any short sections together to make your resume more compact. For example, if you only have one entry under training, consider placing it under your education instead and change the section title to "Education and Training." Use Common Section Headings Use common section headings. Examples: Objective, Experience, Employment, Work History, Skills, Summary, Summary of Qualifications, Accomplishments, Achievements, Capabilities, Education, Professional Affiliations, Publications, Licenses and Certifications, and Honors. Be Concise and Omit Irrelevant Information Employers don't want to read a long, drawn-out version of your life's accomplishments. They have stacks of resumes to read, and want to know quickly whether or not you would be a good fit for their company. So, be clear and...

Cover letters as referred to in the U.S have multiple names internationally like letters of interest and motivation letters. Regardless of the name the process is still the same however typically self-photos of the applying individual are attached to a cover letter, resume or both whereas in the U.S, photos are not appropriate attachments when looking for employment. It is also important to remember that paper sizes differ in other countries so altering your document size will be necessary if you want all your information to come through, otherwise your resume, fax, email etc. may have some missing information when viewed or printed out. It is ideal to send both a resume in English and the language of the country in which you are applying to. You may even need to prepare yourself to be interviewed in both languages (Thompson,...

The resumes attachments to applications for a single job opening that was advertised in a newspaper a few days ago. The position vacant is for an encoder. Gloria, still single, was hired by the company and is currently the recruitment supervisor in the human resources department. The resumes of applicants on her desk indicate her most recent assignment. She was ordered to analyze them and prepare a shortlist of ten names who will be interviewed by the committee headed by the manager of the human resources department. Gloria took a good look at the requirements for the vacant position which consist of the following: 21-26 years old, graduate of B.S. in Computer Science, and a resident of Manila. Gloria found out that thirty of the applicants did not meet the requirements, so their applications were set aside. Still, Gloria needs to eliminate ten more. She was in a quandary and she could not make up her mind on who would be eliminated. As Gloria was shuffling the resumes, she noticed one with a name similar to her ex-boyfriend’s. She said to herself “I don’t want to work with someone who has this name,” and she took out the resume and set it aside. She has nine more names to go. Next, she noticed that five applicants graduated from the university where his boyfriend is an alumnus. She set aside the five resumes. We write a lot about resumes — what to do, what not to do — so now we're introducing a guide to crafting a curriculum vitae that will get you into the interview room. ...Letters While your resume is a summary of your credentials, your cover letter should essentially be a sales pitch. Your aim is to demonstrate why your skills and your background make a perfect match for the position you're applying for. The cover letter is not the place to summarize your background--you have already done this in your resume. Remember, employers typically receive hundreds of resumes for each job opening. You must stand out from other job seekers in a positive way. The best way to distinguish yourself is to highlight one or two of your accomplishments or abilities that show you are an above-average candidate for this position. Stressing only one or two unique attributes will increase your chances of being remembered by the recruiter and getting to the interview stage, where you can elaborate on the rest of your accomplishments. You can also gain an extra edge by showing that you have some specific knowledge about the company and industry. This shows that your are genuinely interested in the job you are applying for--and that you are not blindly sending out hundreds of resumes. More importantly, the employer will view your interest as an indication that you are likely to stay with the company for a substantial period of time if you are hired. 10 Key Details to Remember When to send a cover letter: always mail a cover letter with your resume. Even if you are following up an advertisement that reads simply "send resume," be sure to include a...

They have also received many awards, such as the 3M Health Care Quality Team Award, which shows that this hospital cares for all patients and treats everyone with the utmost respect. This hospital is also affiliated with the University of Toronto, which allows most of their graduates to begin working or enhance their working experience inside St. Michael’s hospital. Most of their recruitment happens internally, meaning they have job postings inside their facility and keep it there for a minimum of one week. This gives opportunity for everyone to join and enough time to send in resumes and cover letters, making it a great hospital to apply to. When reviewing resumes, the first item that Human Resources looks for is the individual’s qualifications (schooling, certain degrees). This is the minimum they look for, and if they do not meet these qualifications, they will be rejected. When looking for outstanding employees, they look for the individuals missions and values, which are in par with what the hospital looks for in their current employees. Work experience, as well as being a good team worker will also increase your chances of being hired in St. Michael’s hospital. The HR representatives of the hospital also do a technique...

Since I have been in the working field, these three methods have been used each and every time for my hiring process. I believe that these three methods are more so traditional used and very effective in selecting the right candidate for a company. I will give an overview on each selection method I have listed and how it would be effective in the hiring process. Resume/ Curriculum Vitae Review The Resume or Curriculum vitae review (as known as the CV) is a summary of a potential candidate’s work experience, education, skills and references. There are different kinds of CV’s that can be used, A Chronological CV, A functional CV and a combined CV. A Chronological CV focusses on presenting the candidate’s experience on an employer by employer basis, with the posts being listed in reverse chronological order. It also contains detail of education and qualifications, together with hobbies. Some chronological CVs also contain a brief personal statement at the front which sets out the key skills and strengths of the candidate. This is the most common type of CV. (Adenle, 2016). A functional CV highlights and shows off a candidate’s skills and abilities rather than work history. It more so used when a candidate doesn’t...
