Sexual Harassment is very common within many Americans today. There is several different type of Sexual Harassment; such as Bullying, Stalking, Racial Harassment, Disability Harassment and Sexual Orientation Harassment. What constitutes sexual Harassment? Sexual Harassment is consistued when unwelcoming or offensive behavior occurs. Consider this an example: When nude photos of a female or male employee at a shipping plant appeared in a magazine and a coworker brings the magazine to work; the coworker then engages in gossip about her or him and are calling vulgar names. When this situation happens a petition is circulated to get him or her fired. Sexual harassment and gender discrimination come hand and hand although very different from another. One way that could be drawn between the two is as follow “Gender” discriminatioin may refer purely to dicriminiation aginst a employee because she is female or because he is male. For example, requiring female employees to retire at the age 60 and males at the age of 65 is gender discrimination and not sex discrimation because no sex act or sex related act took place. Sexual Harassment is unwelcoming or offensive behavior. For example Sexual Harassment may be the employer may have harassed the employee by sexually grabbing his or her buttocks. Employers need to be reminded that if they allow such things to occur it’s the company or organization and not the perpetrator who will end up the Labor Court. This can also be a result of , Quid Quo sexual harassment,(This for That) ; this occurs when employment or expectations decisions such as hiring, promotions, salary increase, shift or work assiagiments dealing with school as well; access to recommendatioins, assistance with school work etc. A few examples of Quid Quo are demanding sexual favors in exchange for a promotion, raise, job or grades, as well as changing work
