Love is an emotion that can withstand difficult obstacles if their passion for eachother is meant to be. When two people meet and have affection towards eachother, nothing can take away the beauty and chemistry they have towards each other away. In the three poems Sonnet 18 written by William Shakespeare, The Prologue to Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare, and “Annabel Lee” written by Edgar Allan Poe, all introduce that love can be shown from different perspectives including death. In the poem, Sonnet 18 written by William Shakespeare, the speaker expresses his deep compassion for his lover by comparing her beauty and presence to summer. By using the phrase “A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life” Shakespeare is able to help the reader imagine the passionate and powerful love they had towards each other (line 6). Shakespeare is able to interpret the romance Romeo and Juliet have towards each other, and that they would take their lives in order to stay together in a way, by useing this quote. In other words, they would rather die than live their lives being apart from each other. This is the kind of love only a few couples are able to have towards each other It takes both people to understand and respect each other, which is a very hard skill to build. Shakespeare uses the line, “Doth with their death bury their parents' strife,” to portray that when true love is found between a couple, they do not care about their parents' thoughts, of how they will be judged (line 8). the poet is able to interpret that nothing interferes with love, and not anything will ever change it. Even though, occasionally there can be ups and downs with relationships, but if someone really acres for another they would risk their life to be with that one person. Shakespeare uses“The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love,” to depict the feeling of everlasting love, and someone’s passion to be together, even if that means death (line 9). The reader is able to imagine why Romeo and Juliet decided to commit this act, which was for true love. Shakespeare wanted to use this statement to prove that they succeeded in their plan. This plan of Romeo and Juliet was to kill themselves because they were not allowed to see each other. At least if they were dead, they wouldn't have to go through all of this anger, misery. This also portrays that Love can make people be mad, scared, and sad at times but it ends up being worth it in the
