Companies are changing everyday due to business trends. There are currently ten business trends. These range from technology to balancing work and families. The main priority for any company is to grow and gain strength. This is done by providing both employees and customers what is needed to be successful. Most employees have families so they need job flexibility. There are now regulations that need to be met concerning diversity in the work place. Then there are the things that are required of employees. The ability to work in a team environment is one of those requirements. Most companies are following one of these trends. Technology plays a huge role in my daily business communication. I am required to contact clients by phone and email every day. There is often times that require that I call for a follow up and then have to e-mails that were lost or misunderstood. Before the technology advancements I would have to write purchase orders and invoices to mail the customer or client. It took longer to receive payment and when there was a problem it took double the time. I am now able to call to ensure the customer received the products and allow them to submit a payment. This also allows the time to do extra work daily. When I get to the office in the morning I will respond to any e-mails we received then move on to sending out new invoices that are due payment. Submitting these documents electronically allows tracking to know when I need to make calls because payments have not been received. I now have a routine that is followed daily. When one task is finished I move on to the next. When my required tasks have been completed I take the time to get ahead on any new inventory or bookkeeping that needs to be done. Currently I work for my fiancé. It is only when needed but is becoming more steady with the business growing. Until recently all paper work and communication was done on paper. With the growth of the company and the requirements of the companies we do business with most paperwork has to be sent via e-mail. They are now tracking inventory through a software program, have the warehouse computer and the office computers linked to their cellphones so they have access to needed files when they are out of town, and are more focused on their customer’s needs rather than what is easy for them. They also provide a great work environment that allows their employees to balance their work needs with their family needs. When needed employees are able to bring their children to work. They have an office set up for exactly this. Trends in business are changing the way companies do business. They are making it easier for people to work around their families, save time in order to be more efficient with their time, and still focus on their customer’s needs in order to gain business.
