I read about Chief John Roberts, George W Bush appointed him in 2005. He attended Harvard where he majored law.
What was the most surprising aspect of the discussion?
The high regard he has for the court and the position he is in. He carries it n the highest regard. When he compared the modern court to the past court he empathized on how more serious the job is taken.
Name and discuss two main points of the interview in respect to the function and/or structure of the U.S. Supreme Court.
One main point was how many cases are brought to the Supreme Court over 9000 a year, and the real effort to pick the right cases to help interpret the law.
The second is when he described how he felt when he was a lawyer as well as being the judge to lead the bar, showing the process of a trail if it case reaches the course. Was there anything in this discussion that you disagree with? If so, justify why. If not, explain why you agree with this justice.
I don’t believe that there isn’t any type of impartial decision making in the courts. Every time a judge resigns it’s a big deal because the President appoints a new judge, and the President always wants someone with views and believes that they have. Using the Internet for research (in the event it was not discussed in the interview), is there a case in which this Justice’s vote was pivotal? Name the case and give a very brief description.
Parents involved in community schools vs. The Seattle School District 1 was a case were the school district was trying to integrate schools by having certain races attended schools in hope of integrating all the schools in the district. Chief John Robert voted no saying “The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race.” In other words, those who were trying to integrate the schools were the ones doing the “discriminating.”

On September 29, 1982, seven people in the Chicago area died after taking Extra-Strength Tylenol capsules that had been laced with cyanide.
