Imagine standing in a room with people that you have heard about but never met. All around you people are dressed in Breeches and Coats with Tails. Right when you walk in the door they stare and whisper. Napoleon hands you a feather with ink dripping from it while your hand is shaking. You have just signed for the largest purchase in U.S. history.

"James was not only president but he was governor of Virginia and Minister at state. James Monroe was important to the Louisiana Purchase because he was one of the men that signed a treaty with France that sold Louisiana to the United States.
Robert R. Livingston
Robert R. Livingston was born on November 27, 1746. In the article Your Dictionary it states”In 1801 President Jefferson appointed Livingston minister to France” Robert played a key role in navigating the Louisiana Purchase. He severed as a representative of the state of New York in the Continental Congress in his early political years.

All of these people are special because they all worked together to accomplish the purchase of Louisiana. Most of the men had goals that they were going to do anything to fulfill. Thomas Jefferson states “Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” I wonder how the United States would be today if it did not include the Louisiana
