Running
Running, we were always running. Running for our lives, running from our lives, but no matter what the reason, we were always running. The only time we ever stopped was about every few hours so we could rest and eat.
“Who are we running from,” I would always ask my parents. They would just look at me for a while like I wouldn’t understand till I was older. Nothing else. Nothing more.
During the day, there was much silence. Most noises came from the wind rustling through leave or the occasional bird. The only time anyone ever spoke was to hurry someone else up or to give directions. All this silence meant that there was a lot of time to think. I would mostly think about my life before we started running. I would think about playing in the park with other boys from …show more content…
Each year I would only have about two to three presents under our Christmas tree and always having a simple dinner. Every year I would always hear how my friends would get about twenty presents and have a fancy turkey dinner. I always wondered why I didn’t get that many presents and why we didn’t have a fancy dinner. I mean we were not poor.
Think about these things made me miss my old life, it made me want to have that life again. A simple life where not everything is perfect, no, but instead a life to be grateful for. I don’t remember much of being grateful, but now I wish I had been. If I would have been more thankful for everything that I had, I would not have thought about why I did not get certain stuff and get mad about it. Maybe I would have had a better life and would not be in this situation that I am in now.
Many nights passed since we first started running, but I do not know how many. Finally, my dad tells me and my mother that our journey is finally over. “One final stretch till we reach our freedom,” he tells us. Freedom, what does he mean by freedom. I could not quite understand what he meant by freedom until later that

The second is Predicting the Behavior of Offenders with Personality Disorder: Issues for Investigative Psychology. The last article is Interactions between Bipolar Disorder and Antisocial Personality Disorder in Trait Impulsivity and Severity of Illness. Spratley Southern New Hampshire University Running head: SECURITY EXPLOITATIONS OF REAL TIME OPERATING SYSTEMS 2 Security Exploitations of Real Time Operating Systems in Embedded Systems Abstract: Real Time Operating Systems that are currently used in embedded systems around the global community has seen an increase in the number of devices that are being employed using this technology. With the implementation of IPv6 , the number of IP addresses that are now available in order to support this boom in the use of embedded systems have also seen an increase in the types of operating systems that helps to manage these systems. However, this has created another area where malicious attackers can exploit some of the security flaws that can be found in these embedded systems. This research paper will outline how microkernels and monolithic kernels that are found in these real time operating systems have been exploited due to careless source code programming in their stack and heap memory areas. Some of these flaws can lead to buffer overflow of memory core areas which can lead to memory being overwritten and being replaced with other I/O or buffer underflow of memory which can lead to memory leakage. Disaster happens when an operating system fails to prevent the unauthorized usage of resources in relation...

Unix

...| UNIX Performance Monitoring | My Research Paper | Student: Dwayne Blanchard Instructor: Professor Cliff KrahenbillAdvanced UNIX AdministrationMarch 3, 2012 | | | | | | The topic of my research paper will be on UNIX performance monitoring. The reason for choosing this topic is for personal understanding on how much UNIX performance monitoring differs from the monitoring of Windows based computers. This research paper is not to compare the two systems but to gain an understanding of how UNIX monitors performance. I don’t have any personal experience with working with UNIX systems, but as always eager to gain insight of different operating systems. The first thing I would like to discover is some of the common performance problems encountered caused by software, hardware and the combination of the two, the different terminologies associated with the processes via hardware or software, and finally what different utilities are used for monitoring these problems. We all know that UNIX has been around since the early 1970’s and the developments of performance tools have been around for a long time to enable system administrators in tuning systems for optimal performance. Operating systems performance problems normally involves process management, memory management, and scheduling. The object of performance on UNIX based systems is to determine the amount of time the operating system spends during scheduling...
