With people all over the place, running to grab the last piece of pizza; we all have a different view on our dining hall. When I walk in the first thing I see are patrons eating. Some people are by themselves eating alone and on their cell phones, or some people by themselves are studying, waiting for the next class to start. In our forecasting for the following years for Panera Bread, we started off by deciding what kind of percentage of sales we would take: either the previous year’s percentage or the average of those five years. Sure, there is a fast food restaurant representing just about every chain imaginable, and a pizza joint can be found on nearly every corner. There are diners everywhere, and even a small handful of restaurants claiming to offer a quality dining experience, though they are few and far between unless you are willing to take out a bank loan. Enter the Serenity Café, which opened about two years ago in Toms River, NJ. Hearing a few good things about it, I figured it was worth a shot. I was desperately searching for a restaurant meeting the following criteria: a quality menu with a wide array of selections, the right atmosphere, and of course at a price that would not empty the wallet. The first and most important criteria when judging a restaurant is a quality menu with nice variety.
