As a child one finds a person in their life to look up to and motivate them to do great things. Our Secrets by Susan Griffin tells how people in her past make her the way she is today. Many people in my live inspire me to do great things and live up to the potential I have. So many people in my live inspired me and continue to do so as I mature into adulthood. My dance teacher, grandmother, uncle, and mom all inspire me as a young child and they things they said and did are now put in to action as I see myself becoming an adult and on my own. Throughout “Our Secret” Griffin explores the different characters’ fears and secrets and she gives specific insights into these “secrets”. Through examining others Griffin comes to terms with her own feelings, secrets, and fears. Susan Griffin states, “Now, for different reasons, I too find myself on the track of a child’s soul. The dimensions of Heinrich Himmler’s life have put me on this track.’” (239). This saying the book leads me to think that Himmler shaped her and made her who she is today.
