I just have to say this week’s subject was fascinating! The level of detail and craftsmanship on these statues is amazing!

The Terra Cotta Soldiers were crafted during the reign of Qin Shi Huangdi’s reign as the first emperor of China. Qin Shi Huangdi was a fierce warrior who conquered all the neighboring lands to build a unified country. He built massive infrastructures of roads, walls, fortifications and even developed a uniform writing script as well as a system of weights and measures (Lubow, 2009).
