Shrek was produced to be a modern comic musical, which in fact had the entire audience laughing and completely entertained. The stage was set to show different locations throughout the play. The scenes would be arranged to be a swamp, and then be changed to a camp site in very little time, so they had to include many props to portray the play in better detail. The set consisted of various large towers, bridges, and houses. They were very resourceful with their props, making the most they could with each object they included.
