...on class observations, I decided to sit in the seat where Edward sits to see if I could identify anything that could be a hindrance. Almost immediately, I noticed that to the right of Edward's seat was a big window that overlooked the playground. Thinking back, I can recall that anytime a class is outside for recess I have to call on Edward to focus. Lowering the blind on this window and closing them will eliminate this distraction for not only Edward but also for all the students. Another distraction I noticed by sitting in his seat was the class computer. The bright ocean screen-saver with all the different pictures and sounds was a definite distraction.
