SUBECT: Site Inspection Report - Belk
DATE: June 27, 2013

The Location
This store is located in Valdosta, GA at the Valdosta mall. The mall is located on the intersection of Norman Drive and Saint Augustine Road. The mall has one of the highest visitor counts in all of South Georgia. Belk can be found on the west side of the mall in between Old Navy and JC Penny if you come in through the front mall entrance. I have included a map of the mall so that you will know exactly where it is.

Customer Service
This Belk serves over 350 patrons while bringing in over $15,000 in sales on an average day. The average transaction takes 7 minutes and costs $45. ¾ of sales come from Belk credit card holders. Card holders enjoy many benefits that regular customers do not, including: special sale days, more coupons, tailoring, free shipping, and cash back. One negative is that at times due to not enough workers being present the wait times for a transaction can rise.
Décor
The store has white ceiling and walls with carpet on the areas containing clothing. The store in laid out in a way that I feel is somewhat cluttered and lacking space between the clothing racks. As I walked between the clothing areas I felt that I was rubbing shoulders with other customers. There isn’t any art or real design to the store.

Market Potential
The current demographics for Belk are centered on 35 year old White women. After speaking with the Men’s department manager Barbara Roberts there seems to be massive room for improvement in the market size. Youth and African American make up less than 30% of all sales. Males make up 17%, Latin Americans less than 10%, and Asian Americans less than 5%. With the Valdosta area steadily growing there is huge potential for

Thus, surface water surrounding many urban areas in the world remain grossly contaminated with fecal matter, and often contamination seeps into groundwater.(1) Waterborne communicable diseases such as Cholera, Typhoid, Dysentery, Hepatitis A, Schistosomiasis, or Intestinal Nematode infections generally spread through fecal-oral route. Potable water contaminated with untreated sewage poses serious health risks...

...& Whinney not liable to Union Bank of California which allegedly relied on Ernst’s review report in extending $ 7 million to ZZZZ Best Co. I agree with court’s decision because Ernst & Whinney never issued an audit opinion on financial statements it was just a review report which was disclosed. However, I do not justify Ernst & Whinney because the auditors besides from failure to notice ‘red flags’ had done few mistakes which lead to the law suit. The first mistake that the auditors made involved Mr. George Greenspan during the 1986 audit. This was the first audit since ZZZZ Best became a public company and the mistake involved the inspection of the insurance restoration sites. Mr. Greenspan had talked with Tom Padgett, and Mr. Padgett confirmed the insurance contracts were real and showed proper documents to back them up, Mr. Greenspan never actually inspected any of the actual insurance restoration sites. Doing so could have stopped the scam from hurting the public stockholders, especially because they take in such a huge percentage of income for ZZZZ Best. The second mistake involved Ernst & Whinney, was that Greenspan reported during the interview to the congressional subcommittee, that Ernst & Whinney never got in touch with him to talk about ZZZZ. If this conversation occurred, Greenspan might have been able to discuss his neglection to inspect the insurance restoration sites, which therefore could have given Ernst & Whinney a heads up to do so. Ernst & Whinney should...

...Marcus Mason 08/05/2013 Unit 7. Lab 1. New Building-Safety Plan On site Management commits the necessary resources of staff, money, and time to ensure that all persons on the worksite are protected from injury and illness hazards. In addition, management visibly leads in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site’s safety and health activities. Specifically, the highest level management establishes and reviews annually the site’s safety and health policy and ensures that all employees know, understand, and support that policy. All management levels, with input from hourly employees, develop an annual safety and health goal with objectives and action plans to reach that goal. At the end of each year all management levels, with input from hourly employees, evaluate progress in accomplishing the action plans, achieving all objectives, and meeting the annual goal. This evaluation and plan, which also includes an evaluation of the overall safety and health program, results in a written report that includes the next year’s goal, objectives, and action plans, including any remaining action needed to accomplish the current year’s goal. Management ensures that all employees, including themselves, have clearly written safety and health responsibilities included within their job description, with appropriate authority to carry out those responsibilities. ...(Ryan) Back, Safety Inspector, CanSafe Workplace Safety LLC Date: March 21, 2016 Inspection of Meadowlands Development for Safety This is Seoungho(Ryan) Back and I performed the safety inspection exam for the Meadowlands Development construction site. I found many deficiencies in my inspection that included improper basic safety regulations. Some of these deficiencies included nails in boards and a poorly maintained construction site. This inspection did not meet expectations. I am an occupational health and safety inspector working for CanSafe Workplace Safety LLC. My job is to conduct safety and health inspections for companies who require this in their workplace by WorkSafe BC. Our firm has been hired by Welbit Construction Ltd to conduct spot safety inspections on one of their larger worksites because they have been forced to divide the construction supervisor’s time between two projects. This inspection would determine whether the Meadowlands Townhome Estates was following the safety regulations according to WorkSafe BC. I started at about 10:30 a.m. and finished write my report its closer to 4:00 p.m. Overall, I concluded that the worksite poorly followed the standards and regulations according to WorkSafe BC. The exterior of a building is good, but there is some problem inside of building. We have teens that are having babies with no place to go. There are teens that are on drugs and would like to get away from that lifestyle. There are teens that have runaway to escape an abusive situation and are now living on the streets. The goal of this project is to find a facility that these teens can go to, in order to get off of the streets. Get counseling and a chance to make a better life for themselves. With finding this shelter it is my thought that the City of Dayton can have less crime because these teens are off the street and don’t have to do bad things to get money and hopefully make room in the jails for serious offenders not teens trying to support themselves. Financial Performance

...Executive Summary The financial institutions industry in our country represents one of the most important industries those control the monetary flow in the economy. From the very first of its journey (Started by Industrial Promotion Company of Bangladesh Limited.) this industry has shown so much prospect as well as progress. Sharing some common characteristics of Banks & some of its own it brought diversification in the financial market. In the same time it witnessed impressive growth during the last years. In our country like most other industries financial institutions are also big city especially Dhaka concentrated. Financial institutions rarely spread their branches outside divisional cities let alone the urban areas. So the fierce competition among as well as across the group is strengthening. So the market segmentation, expansion and product diversification may be some key tools to get out of the situation for the FIs. But currently the industry seems to become matured with so many competitors. The recent inclusion of another two new financial institutions (Bangladesh Infrastructure Finance Fund Limited (BIFFL) & Agrani SME Financing Company Limited) in the market has increased the number of competitors at 31. From the research & provided data it is very clear that the companies are trying to strengthen their position in the market as the investment n fixed asset seems to on the rise. Besides following the stock market crash in 2010 and recent rise in the...
