...who are already customers but looking to gain more attention to generate potential sale growth. “Opt-in is the key to successful email marketing” (Chaffey, Dave, p.400) The bulk of emails is sent to customers every day to get a possible sale. The main features of email marketing are very often discounts or coupons given by companies for subscribing on their website. For example company called My Uni Days is supplying students with latest discounts in different stores. However they are sending emails quite too often and in the result of that, students might not pay attention to them. Emails received, as an advert looks mostly very simple with big pictures to gain customers attention to a new product or service that company want them to buy. Having a big picture included in the email will gain customers attention and attract them to click on the button “To find out more, click here”. For example website called Low Cost Holidays will supply their customers with daily emails with big pictures of empty beaches and blue sea and no prices included in the email. Having no prices will encourage people to go on their website and check, which will be a one step closer to buy holidays and gain profits. Emails are made to be very easy to navigate through them in terms of finding things that customers needs. For example all the contacts necessary are always supplied on the bottom of the email, which is natural for websites as well, so customers will instinctively know where to look...

Netflix Case Study

...Analysis of Strategy Analysis of Strategy Netflix Lauren Lane Strategy 10.15.12 Netflix Lauren Lane Strategy 10.15.12 Netflix was born from an idea in 1997 from Reed Hastings, in conjunction with his partners Marc Randolph and Mitch Lowe. As a company Netflix has derived its profits from a consumer’s ability to stream DVDs online as well as have them delivered to their house, completely remodeling the idea and process of video and television rentals. Netflix created a product that filled the void of instant media access to consumers, and created a product that makes video and television viewing a service that everyone could access and afford. For a monthly subscription fee, subscribers can rent as many DVDs as they would like and keep them for as long as they like while also being able to stream movies and TV shows online, giving them access to hundreds of thousands of options of what they want to watch. There are no due dates or late fees for the DVDs which was a change from the traditional way of movie rentals. 1. Identify the key elements of Netflix’s strategy. What competitive advantages is Netflix trying to achieve? Best Buys

...“Best Buy Corporation: Strategic Management Analysis” S. Bensen, A. El Haddi, K. Fitzsimmons, A. Hussein, H. Marotske Strategic Management University of St Thomas, College of Business Executive MBA program, Cohort 62 Abstract Best Buy’s news coverage of the last few years has been consistently negative. The company’s performance and reputation suffered greatly. Its Earnings per Share fell by more than 200% in 2012 alone. These negative events were the result of governance problems, a changing market landscape (cloud computing, music streaming, online purchasing, online gaming, etc.) and a significant leadership turnover in a period of crisis. The company’s value stream is in a state of flux and could be said to be a master of none at this time. This paper presents strategies to deal with these problems by creating a strategic road map that will first stabilize Best Buy and eventually put it on a growth path. As a result of our analysis, we recommend that the company employs new strategies that include growing its online business by capitalizing on Geek- Squad’s expertise and exploring an internal fix-it strategy with the development of a compelling mission and vision. Finally, we recommend that BB explore the formation of an alliance with its rivals and leverage opportunities presented by new markets. 1. INTRODUCTION The purpose of this paper is to examine Best Buy’s (BB) strategies using SWOT, TOWS and value stream analysis. It proposes business strategies that can mitigate...
