Both readings are about women right and how women should be equal to men. For example, in Declaration of Sentiments one fact states “He has compelled her to submit to laws, in the formation of which she had no voice” and in Soujourner Truth’s speech states “In the courts women have no right, no voice; nobody speaks for them. I wish to have her voice there among the pettifoggers”. Both woman wanted for women to be able to have a voice and able to speak for themselves.
