Introduction St. Dimas is looking to halt its ever slowing profit margins by building a brand new assisted living facility or ALF on its campus. It has been struggling in recent years with declining facility enrollment and is looking to adapt its business practices to compensate for this loss. In this paper, I will discuss the viability of this proposal. I will define the project deliverables, constants and assumptions. Perform a Level 1 WBS and speak to Dr. Splient’s abilities as a viable project manager.
Analysis
The analysis of the proposals from Dr. Splient’s team will help define the project deliverables amongst the team. “Whenever you have a new project (either created/identified by you or assigned to you), one of the first things you should do is define the deliverables for the project. The deliverables on a project are the specific work products that you have to produce in order to complete the project,” (Perman, 2009).There is a two month timeline for the completion of this part of the project as the entire project is rushed due to the needs of St Dimas and their need to finish before the summer or July 2000. There are several people responsible for their different parts of the project. The Construction Project Manager has the responsibility of construction. The COO will oversee design and logistics of food services, housekeeping, staffing, and policy and procedure development. The CFO will manage budgets for all of the projects and create payroll and accounting systems. The IS director is defining and setting up all the telecommunications and information system needs of the new facility. The VP of Business Development will create a marketing plan and communication package. The Medical Director is going to develop an assessment tool to determine the medical needs for the incoming residents of the new facility. This will help with the
