FROM DATA TO DECISION
Listed below are the ages of actresses and actors at the times that they won Oscars for the categories of Best Actress and Best Actor. The ages are listed in chronological order by column, so that corresponding locations in the two tables are from the same year. (Notes: In 1968 there was a tie in the Best Actress category, and the mean of the two ages is used; in 1932 there was a tie in the Best Actor category, and the mean of the two ages is used. These data are suggested by article “Ages of Oscar-winning Best Actors and Actress,” by Richard Brown and Gretchen Davis, Mathematics Teacher magazine. In that article, the year of birth of the award winner was subtracted from the year of the awards ceremony, but the ages in the tables below are based on the birth date of the winner and the date of the awards ceremony.)
Analyzing the Results
1. Go to MyStatLab → Statcrunch → StatCrunch website → Open StatCrunch and will take you to the spreadsheet and use Data to load your data in excel onto the spreadsheet, Graph for all graphs, Stat for all analysis use it to answer question 2 to 4. Copy and paste all graphs and statcrunch output for full credit.
2. First explore the data using suitable statistics and graphs such as histogram, boxplot, etc. Use the results to make info
In the histogram for actress mostly actresses received the Oscar in the age group between 20-40. The maximum number of actresses received the Oscar in the age group between 25-20.

In the histogram for actors they mostly received Oscars at the age group between 30-50. The maximum number of actors received the Oscar in the age group between 40-45.

The two boxes are a little different with the median of actress lower than that of actors. . Both box plots have no outliers there making the mean a better indicator for further analysis.

...MGMT 520- Legal, Political, and Ethical Dimensions of Business Keller Graduate School of Management May 15, 2014 I choose “Federal Employees Health Benefits Program Coverage for Certain Intermittent Employees”. The Office of Personnel Management controls this proposed regulation. I am pursuing my MBA with a concentration in accounting, but my second choice would have been HealthCare management so by choosing this regulation I will have a better understanding of the type of regulations currently in place or being proposed. At this time the regulation proposed does not have a direct impact on myself, nor the business I am in. I have attached a copy of the proposed regulation at then end of this assignment. The Office of Personnel Management is proposing to temporary adjust the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program regulations to make sure employees who work sporadic schedules are eligible to be enrolled in a health benefits under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP). Based on the fact that these three items are separated by semicolons and the word “or” between numbers two and three, a person must only meet one of the three descriptions in order to be disqualified from receiving benefits. 4. Exceptions apply only to the first part, (1), which relates to a person voluntarily quitting a job. These exceptions clarify that benefits shall not be denied “solely on the basis of pregnancy or the termination of pregnancy;” if the person left the job due to evidenced domestic abuse; or if relocation was necessary because of a spouse’s military service orders. 5. Doe, 457 U.S. 202 (1982) Historical Setting In the 1970’s, the United States had peak in immigration. This increase caused alarm as to funding for immigrant students in public education. Based on laws passed in 1975, Texas withheld funds to public schools for immigrant students without legal status documentation. A suit was filed in Federal District Court on behalf of the immigrant children denied admittance to Tyler Independent School District. The District Court and Court of Appeals sided with the students and found that Texas could not prevent nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws (457 U.S. 202, 210). Case Summary An appeal was filed with the Supreme Court and argued in 1981. The Court heard arguments that immigrant students were outside of the protection of the Fourteenth Amendment because of lack of legal status. Claims on behalf of the students petitioned that equal protection was called for in this case, as they were persons within the jurisdiction of the State. Court’s...
