Everyone in life needs a few guidelines to follow. Motivation is one of these guidelines. I personally think it is necessary to life, just like the air we breathe and the water we drink.
If we look at motivation a little closer, we can see that it is defined as the process that initiates, guides and maintains goal-oriented behaviors. It is what causes us to act, whether it is getting a glass of water to reduce thirst or reading a book to gain knowledge.
A couple of days ago a great man, who gave me a lot of motivation in life and a new vision to my future, died. Steve Jobs was a brilliant entrepreneur who had everyone’s eyes on him for the goals he achieved and the great success he accomplished. Getting to know this person will definitely add a benefit to everybody’s life.
Steve was born on February 24th, 1955, to two University of Wisconsin graduate students who gave him up for adoption. His parents’ only wish was for him to grow up and go to college.
When he turned 17 he did go to college but soon he dropped out not knowing what he wanted to become in life. He stayed around for almost 18 months only taking the courses he thought were interesting and beneficial.
Years later, he and his friend Steve Wozniak spent all their money on developing the computer into an all day used machine that is cheap and handy to everyone.
Because Jobs liked what he did and because he had enough motivation, his workplace (the garage of his parents’ house) grew to a multibillion dollar company named Apple.
From this example we can see how a lonely child, who was adopted by a decent family, made his way through in life with just enough motivation and a clear mind.
When you make decisions in life you will never know what you are going to become. You have to trust in yourself that you are doing the right thing and never let your dreams fade away in front of you.
