1. Describe yourself:

I have had both good and bad experiences working with others in groups. I have been in some groups where everyone has worked towards the common goal, and I have been in groups where certain people put their egos and personal agendas before the group. I would describe myself as a group player. I work very well with others. Under stressful situations I remain calm, and seek out solutions and the input of others to help manage the stress. My only big pet peeve concerning group work is someone who does not pull their weight. This creates a burden on the other members on the group. My boss would describe me as motivated, diligent, and caring.

2. Communication Expectations:

I believe a reasonable response time is 24 hours. Everyone should check their Outlook and Discussion Board (DB) daily. Conference calls and online chats can be used to exchange feedback, concerns, and encouragement. The DB can be used to submit drafts and other documents for review.

3. Behavioral Expectations:

Teamwork, effective communication, and professionalism will lead to successful completion of the project. Lack of concern and slacking off will be a threat to the project’s completion. I look forward to honest and constructive feedback from my group members. To resolve conflicts, I try to understand the concerns and outlook of all parties involved. I have no problem compromising as long as the compromise is reasonable and will benefit all parties involved. If a solution cannot be reached, then someone in higher authority may need to get involved.

4. "Flexibility" Expectations:

Whether it’s a death in the family, a family or work emergency, sickness, deployment, etc., life happens. Flexibility means being able to adapt to unforeseen circumstances. If a group member has an issue arise, they should immediately inform the group of the situation and list any requests.

5. Performance Expectations:

MBA-level writing is ideal, but everyone may not be an expert at writing. This is why feedback and communication are important. Submitting a draft may be beneficial because it allows the group to make recommendations and comments before a final version is turned in. However, everyone should put forth their best effort in each assignment. Valuable recommendations should be considered and implemented in future efforts.

6. Expectations About Timelines:

Being on time is considered meeting the specified deadline. However, I think it is a great practice and part of professionalism to always submit things early. Murphy’s Law should always be a consideration when working on and submitting assignments.

7. Final Submission:
The final submission should be submitted a few (3-5) days ahead to allow group members to review and make comments. Each member should express their approval or disapproval with the final product. If there are discrepancies, they should be corrected and voting should again take place to assess everyone’s opinion on the more up to date product.

8. Conflict Resolution:
Conflicts should be handled like adults. Best case scenario, disagreeing parties can come to a solution without involving everyone. If not, then the input from the rest of the group members should be sought. The decision should be based off facts and the best interests of all group members. A majority vote should be the deciding factor. All conflicts should be brought up early as possible to give adequate time for the conflict resolution processes.
