I sincerely feel that I use my talents daily on my job. As a hairstylist, I study all the time new trends in beauty. I read and study new styles for clients. I do free work sometimes just to get a little practice in before I do a paying client. I do connect with each customer and pretty much know what they like or do not like. I know the kind of styles each would be willing to try (I also know what will not work for them too). My twenty-six-year career has proven that my skills as a stylist are great (I still have clients that I have had since I started out.). My business has grown plenty just from word of mouth. The things that keep customers coming is; I do good work, I am timely, and I care about the overall health of the hair. The talents that I am not using at this time is management, encouraging and nurturing others hairstylist. I am in school …show more content…

Jeffery, I like the way you put this post. I like to laugh. It makes the day at work a little lighter. So, to be able to correct someone and make them smile about it is a gift. I do not possess that gift. To make your co-workers laugh, a person respects you even more as well as learn and change for the better. It is splendid when the people you work with really knows you. For instance, knowing that when they are asked to close the door, you mean business. That means this meeting is no laughing matter.

Tony, It seems as if you reinvented yourself. You saw it was a struggle to perform in the capacity in which you used to, and you did something about that issue. It is a fact that when you do not operate in your strengths, you will not be productive on any job. Meanwhile, you knew how it felt when you do operate at full force, and you knew something had to change. I pray for that same ability. Thanks, Tony.

... FIVE TOP THEMES I. Strength: How has this strength manifested in your current practice (please be specific)? Individualization: I try to approach each or my patients, my patient’s family members, and my co-workers in a non-judgmental way. I like the challenge of trying to figure out what makes people “tick” or what motivates others. People have always told me that I Am really good at reading people. I enjoy finding out what makes each person unique and I enjoy learning how everyone is different. I think this is an invaluable skill as a nurse. Using kindness, tolerance, and empathy, I try to understand how each person can best receive information and then try to tailor my style or approach so that we can find a common ground or perhaps even a bond. I learned this skill early on in my nursing career as a psychiatric nurse but I have used it in every area I have worked in. I also try to use it with my co-workers. It’s an excellent skill to have in a team situation, I really enjoy getting everyone to work together. II. Strength: How has this strength manifested in your current practice (please be specific)? Positivity: I have always loved being a nurse but I am especially lucky to bring life into this world, most days I go to work. It is an incredible honor to be there guiding the way for my patients and their family members. I have been a part of so many incredible experiences and I am so lucky to be part of such a great health care team. I try to remember...

Personal Narrative: My Results For Strengthsquest

...I am tired but doing good this week. I am thankfully almost done with my midterms. This week has been busy, but I'm proud of myself and happy with the effort I have put into my studying. I have learned that I need to work on my time management skills a little bit, but overall everything has been going fine. My results for StrengthsQuest include the themes adaptability, responsibility, deliberative, relator, and harmony. I understood why I got responsibility, deliberative, relator, and harmony. The theme that I didn't expect to get was adaptability. I didn't see myself as someone who is comfortable with change, surprises, and unexpected problems. After reading the description of the theme I understood why I got it. I do like to prepare myself for possible situations and I am flexible when it comes to sudden changes and unexpected situations. I never saw myself as someone who is comfortable dealing with change especially when I moved away for college. I got hit pretty hard with homesickness, but I never realized that I was adapting to the changes and learning how to deal with them. This theme has helped me the most these...

...MANAGEMENT 12E KREITNER & CASSIDY INTERACTIVE ANNOTATIONS Annotation 1a It’s a Small World Question: How does this situation illustrate the pros and cons of economic globalization? Economic globalization provides manufacturers with access to parts from the around the world. With increased specialization comes increased efficiency and lower prices. However, this also leads to a higher level of dependence on a complex supply chain. When Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull volcano erupted in April 2010 air traffic across Europe came to a standstill. This brought the supply chain to a halt as parts and supplies transported by plane were left sitting on the runway. The economic impact included costly manufacturing plant shutdowns and sales delays. Annotation 1b Back to the Opening Case Question: What evidence of the managerial functions and skills can you detect in the Zappos.com case? Reference figures 1.3 and 1.4. Of the eight functions of management there is clear evidence of Communicating as employees are invited to provide suggestions and feedback related to the core values. Staffing is also involved as they incorporate their core values into the hiring process, particularly the desire to hire people who are humble. Although less obvious, Leading and Motivating are present as well. Employees involved in defining the company’s core values are quite likely to find their work more satisfying and rewarding. Leadership is evident as there is a clear vision and...
