Chapter 2 – Stress: The Constant Challenge

Please read chapters 2 and then answer the following questions with thoughtful answers and in detail.

1) List your top three stressors. Detail a plan to lessen each of these stressors using the methods detailed in this chapter. My top three stressors are Interpersonal stress, time pressures and Worries about the future. To lesson these stressors I will use my planner in order to organize my time better, so that I can become more efficient at managing my home life with my college and work life. I will also make sure I have all due dates in my planner so I can make sure each assignment is completed before the assigned date so I am not worrying about completing it at the last minute. Finally to lesson my worries about the future I will try to research on the weekends where the best places of growth and security are so that why when I get out of college I will have done my research and have narrowed it done to the best places.

2) Consider your living environment (school, work, or home). List three environmental factors that can increase your stress levels. How can you make each factor less stressful? I love my little apartment, but sometimes when I’m trying to focus on homework or trying to just generally relax it’s not always on my 1 and ½ year old daughter’s time, there are time she just get plan moody and cries and wines and I can’t get anything done, or she’ll go get into the book shelf after I just picked them up. I can try to avoid this by stepping away and taking a shower to de-stress so I don’t become overly stressed, and start taking it out on everyone I also become stressed at school when I am trying to focus on what the teacher is saying the audience is being too noisy.
