3.3 Classroom Tab The classroom section is one of the most important sections on the student website. It is where you will find all of the information on your current classes and the material that will be used. The classroom section is broken down into four tabs to make it easier for you to find everything; they are Materials, Discussion, Assignments, and Grades.
3.3.1 Materials When you first click on the classroom tab it takes you to the materials section where you will see the name and start date of your class. Scrolling down the page you will see a list of what each week of your class will contain. Each week will have a section that has the objectives and the materials that will be needed for that week such as books or other reading material needed to complete that week’s assignment. Directly to the left of the materials tab you will notice a drop down box that will let you switch between classes. It will show your most recent past class, your current class or classes, as well as your next upcoming class. You can quickly switch between them by clicking on the down arrow to bring up the drop down box and clicking on the class you would like to go to. Directly under the drop box on the left you will see a course outline that has links to the course overview, course policy, a list of required software, links to other class materials such as SkillSoft, further down you will find quick links to each week of class. Clicking on the course overview will take you to another page that has the course description as well as a list of all topics and objectives for the class. On the right side of the page you will see a list of useful links that will give you quick access to resources that can be helpful when working on assignments.
3.3.2 Discussion The discussion section is where you will be able to talk to the professor and other classmates. When you click on the discussion link you will see a box on the left that says forums. In this box you will see links to different forums that are used during the course of each class. The first link you will see in the forums box is Main, in the main forum you will find useful information that the teacher will post, as well as post answers to weekly discussion questions and respond to other students. This is also where you see be able to ask the professor any questions you may have during the course of the class. Under the main forum link is the Chat Room link. In the chat room you will see a post by the professor titled Bio Thread in this post you will find the Professors Bio as well as other students. This is also where you will post your own Bio at the start of each class so everyone can get to know something about you and you can read about your other classmates. The third link down is Course Materials, in this thread you will find important information that the professor will post. This is where you can find the course syllabus as well as any other important documents your professor find necessary. These documents can vary from class to class and sometimes will also be found under the materials section. If you are in a Bachelors course you will also see a section labeled Learning Teams. Under this you will see six different links to forums labeled Learning Team A through Learning Team F. Through each class in your Bachelors program you will be in a learning team that will post and share information about team assignments. Under that is your Individual forum. This is where you will receive information from the professor that is only for you, such as assignment grades and feedback from the professor. This is also where you can ask the professor questions that you do not feel comfortable asking in the Main forum. Under the Individual Forum section is My Items. In the My Items section you will have two links, the first is My Drafts and the second is My Sent Items. Under My Drafts you will see any forum posts that you have saved as a draft and have not posted yet. Under My Sent Items you will see any posts that you have made in any of the other forums. Under the Forums section you will see another small box with three links. These links are Class Members, Preferences, and Tips/FAQ. The Class Members link has a list of all the people in your current class and their school e-mail addresses. Under Preferences you will be able to change different options for the forum area. You can change your display name, what font type and size you want to set as default, and if you want to set a signature to display on every forum post that you make.
3.3.3 Assignments The Assignments tab is where you will see the due dates for all of your assignments as well as post all of your assignments to your professor. This is also where you can see how much each assignment is worth how many points you received. On the left side you also see a small box that has links to each week of class. These links will take you to a summary of each week and if the assignment has already been graded it will have any comments that your professor left for you.
3.3.4 Grades The last section under the classroom tab is the Grades section. In this section you will see the current grade percentage in the class. This will change as your professor updates your points throughout the class. You will also see your total score and the possible score. Your total score is the total amount of points that you have received from all graded assignments. The total possible score is the total amount of points possible from all assignments up to your current week.

Right under the Library tab you will see six more tabs you can choose; University Library, Media Library, eBooks, Center for Writing Excellence, Center for Mathematics Excellence, and Phoenix Career Services. You can also refine your search by content type, such as searching for only magazine or journal articles, subject terms such as only articles in sports or animals, by publication date to only find data during a current time frame, and by language. ... A weblog or in short a blog is a website for generating text, photographs, video or audio files and/or links on a daily basis. When it comes to students using this blogs for interacting, publishing and exchanging collective intelligence, the misusage or reliability issues come into picture because, not many a times it is recommended to rely on the information available in blogs. Also students may get attracted to unrelated information and may misuse and publish controversial or bad information online. I dislike blogs and I do not recommend this for academic purpose unless the students are trained on how to use them. 2. WiKi is a website that allows users to add, remove or otherwise edit and change the content available on line. I like this because most of the times the information may be updated or current updates must be uploaded and this website is making this possible. I have been browsing for information but I come across few sites that have outdated information and they are still available online. Updating information is a great idea but at the same time the fact that the users can edit the information makes it a little complex to think as they may mess with it adding unnecessary content. 3. Stu.dicio.us features are worth a like because students need to manage time and schedule it. The features like note taking, to-do lists, keyword link to Google and Wikipedia, grade organizer, social networking are what students need to keep on track with what is...

...internet to browse the film reviews on film reviews’ websites. Among those netizens, a part of group is made up by college students. However, the deficient reliability of websites was found by college students. What exactly college students would have that thought in mind was the research purpose. As the computer technology grows rapidly, people are bombarded by a large reservoir of information which offers the marketers a challenge because “… as consumers adopt new technologies, their behaviors change” (Zinkhan, 1998). When college students want to see a movie, they check the online review website before they really go to that movie. Yet some of online comments are not matched to the reality. Because the comments on the film review website said the movie was good, the college students didn’t like the “good movie” which was commented on the website. Because of this situation, some people trust the comments on online film review but some do not. Within the extensive literature on the influence of online film review, little research has been done on different regions of college students in southern Taiwan. The different situation between north and south parts of Taiwan may be on account for local culture. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to investigate how online movie reviews influence college students’ consuming behavior. Research questions of this study are (1) Whether do college students trust in online movie...

...Introduction The business I’m creating is called The Clothes Shack. It will be an up to date and stylish shop which will be based in the centre of Cambridge’s busy shopping centre. The main aim is to sell clothes and accessories which are up to date with the latest fashion to the public in order for me to create a profit. My business will be set up as a partnership, which will include myself and my sister. Initial Funding The opening of the shop will be funded through the savings which we both have which is a total of £23,000 and then the £10,000 we inherited from our Granddad between us. As this would not be enough to cover our costs we will apply for a mortgage loan with our local bank and ask for £237,000 for the buying of the unit, which we plan to repay monthly. Location We will set up the shop in the middle of one of Cambridge’s main shopping centres, the Lion Yard. We have chosen this location as other well known fashion shops such as Topshop and Topman, Newlook and River Island, etc. are also set up here and have similar target markets. However we have to be careful as they will become our new competitors and they are well-known so they have an advantage. With this location it should help to entice the customers into the shop as it’s the location which they are likely to be shopping in as they will in the shops opposite (RiverIsland and Topshop etc). Also the shops unit is on the ground floor instead of the 1st floor. This is an advantage as there are more...

Apa Style

...APA style can be difficult without some helpful and informative resources especially if you have been taught a different style in previous years of education. Because I learned to compose in MLA style, I am very grateful for websites and books dedicated to helping students create APA formatted projects. Recently, I researched the book Pocket Guide to APA Style and several APA “help” websites and decided the old fashioned book was best for me because it teaches you all the steps and has a great sample paper for guidance. The OWL website (www.owl.english.perdue.edu/) had a very helpful side pan containing reference links to APA formats of almost every type of assignment. However, the directions could be more clear and I dislike using the search box on OWL because it takes you back to a Google search. At www.apastyle.org I found their “Quick-Answer” section interesting because it covered APA format guides for most projects including citing Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and blogs. Sadly, I discovered I would have to pay if I wanted any of the full APA guide books. The next site I visited, www.citationmachine.net, is unique because it gives a “most cited’ list that contains websites most used and cited for research but the site is not easy to navigate. The website www.bibme.org is basically a bibliography generator and can come in handy if you’re in a pinch. However, if you are trying to learn APA style as I am, this site does not contain any real guide to...

Why Is Wikipedia Reliable

...What website do people usually go to when they are doing a research for general information or they are trying to find a fact about something? The answer for that is pretty obvious: Wikipedia. For years, many of the educators have warned students not to use or trust wikipedia as a reliable source. However, students find information on Wikipedia useful and correct compared to a textbook. Therefore, WIkipedia is a reliable and appropriate source for research because Wikipedia articles are a combination of different reliable sources and authors can write about the topic that they are most qualified to do so. Wikipedia is absolutely a good starting point for research and it directs student to other reliable sources. Wikipedia is a website that gathers a lot of information from other reliable sources. Additionally, the huge amount of information can train students’ literacy skills, especially when they are reading a difficult articles. On Wikipedia, most of the academic articles have footnotes or references at the bottom of the article. The footnotes list all the sources that the information came from. Most of these resources are from reliable academic...

Mr.Bsitm

...The goals of this website should be demonstrated in several forms. When I sat down with relatives to talk about the goals of this one of the first questions that I ask is why you think the site should have any goals. Often, there’s a moment of uncomfortable silence before someone replies, because everyone genially thinks that IT is tremendously hard. A couple of the answers that I got were that asking for certain web addresses maybe a disadvantage. In addition, some courses build a website for branding purposes, or to provide information to potential clients, thinking that one-way communication is a return on investment, and therefore a valid goal. Another one of the goals that a user may see is that using a website is merely to provide information is like using an airplane to drive around town without ever leaving the ground, you’re missing the real opportunity to help your business take-off by creating opportunities to follow up with qualified prospects. Measurable objectives are the specific measures we use to determine whether or not we are successful in achieving the goal. The objectives are instructions about what we want the student to be able to do. Use verbs and include specific conditions that describe to what degree the students will be able to demonstrate mastery of the task for the website that any user would love to see. Some educators call these learning outcomes; others call them measurable objectives; and yet others call them behavioral objectives because...
