Nadya Aisenberg uses caesuras to emphasize her rhetorical questions about Achilles and his actions. Aisenberg uses question marks at the end of each line, for example “devour him himself?”, “husbanded the groves?” and “however briefly, to tears?” (Aisenberg 6, 9, 18) creating a persistent tone, as if the author is interrogating the readers about the obstacles facing Achilles. Aisenberg also uses quotation marks “‘There was a world as well?’” (12) to greatly emphasize how not only would Achilles have changed his behavior and become a normal farmer but he would have also grow up to be unaware of the reality that surrounds him, for example war and death, if the world was not filled with troubles and peace but just with peace.
