The movie "Henry V" was primarily talking about the story that King of England-Henry V led England won a great victory at the battle of Agincourt against France. The young Henry V was good at military strategies and tactics; he had the ability to encourage morale and he was loved and respected by subordinate. Henry V was encouraged by ministers and bishop to take back France, at the same time, he received an insulting gift from French Prince; he decided to start the battle. With great courage, Henry V led nobles and civilian people won their significant victory, and finally forced the King of France signed the peace treaty between England and France. The King of France agreed to let his daughter, Catherine, marry to Henry V with the condition that their son will be the future King of France. England had its great victory over this war, and Henry V made it happen. Henry V’s fantastic skills approach, credibility, and other leadership traits were perfectly captured in the difficult overall process of the war.
Henry V gave many speeches in the movie, these speeches showed his wonderful skills of leadership. There was a scene of Henry talking to the city governor of France, he was assertively threaten the French governor of attacking the French citizens if he wouldn’t let English troops get inside the city; but he mentioned that if the governor open the city gate peacefully, they wouldn’t hurt French citizens. Henry V’s speech was just right for the occasion; firstly, he didn’t send ambassadors to talk to the governor, he did it in person; secondly, he talked in details about hurting French citizens and this made an ideal threatening impact; and finally, this speech was at the right time because the governor didn’t get backups from French Prince. Henry V grabbed the governor’s weak point to successfully get into the city.
Another important scene was the speech giving before the battle at Harfleur. The battle day was important to England, so both the King and soldiers were nervous and couldn't fall asleep before the very day. Henry V wore a cloak to talk to some soldiers and talk to them to know their real thoughts, to find a right way to get them inspired and motivated. After talking to his soldier, Henry confronted his own fear, with considerable thoughts, he found his way to inspire himself and motivate his troops. Henry V motivated his noble soldiers with honor, money, and power; to common people Henry V said their names would be remembered. He also mentioned their parents. He emphasized they should make their parents be proud of them. He motivated and inspired his troops with the significance of honor, and the pathetic of timidity. "That he which hath no stomach to this fight, let him depart; his passport shall be made, and crowns for convoy put into his purse: we would not die in that man's company, that fears his fellowship to die with us...” This speech showed Henry V had good human skills. He knew how to work with a team and organize team members to cooperate to achieve goals. There was another interlude in the story. In the movie there was a man named Bardolf. He was one of the English army and he used to be a close friend of Henry V. Bardolf was caught stealing goods from a church. Henry V commanded before that no stealing permitted. Although Bardolf was his friend, he had to keep his words. As a result, Bardolf was hung in front of other soldiers to let them know their King was a credible person. Henry V successfully held his credibility. Leaders have a responsibility to make their followers know they are believable. A trustworthy leader can attract more followers. Anyway, Henry V was a wise leader overall. Externally, he used strategies and tactics to defeat enemies, those strategies and tactics were designed by the psychological needs, circumstances, weaknesses and the situation of the case at hand. Internally, he used affection, respect, honor and belief to win the integrity and join forces of his own people.

Comparing Mencken's Creed And Scopes V. Tennessee

...In God We Trust: Separation of Church and State: Mencken’s Creed and Scopes v. Tennessee The Mencken’s Creed describes the beliefs of Henry Louis Mencken, a prominent political commentator from the 20’s to the 40’s. The Creed is a simple collection of his strongest ideas. In summary, he believes religion, government, and ignorance will hold back the advancement of knowledge. While his ideals are extreme, there is a truth to be found within his work. The separation of church and state can only be beneficial to a country. To combine the two will disrupt the two systems and negate further advancement as whole. It will negatively affect other belief systems and the political system itself. Mencken does state this, but to a much more severe extent....

Hobby Lobby and the Afforable Care Act

...HOBBY LOBBY VS. THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT Leonila Gonzalez oUR LADY OF THE LAKE UNIVERSITY HOBBY LOBBY VS. THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT Leonila Gonzalez oUR LADY OF THE LAKE UNIVERSITY Businesses can be affected by many laws and mandates that are set by the state or federal government. It can be difficult for a small firm to stay in business when such mandates are passed. The Affordable Care Act was signed into law by President Obama on Mach 23, 2010. Key components to the law are improving quality and health care costs, new consumer protections and access to healthcare, and mandating that all firms provided insurance for their employees. Small Business Tax credits were also included as an incentive and a way to reduce cost for the smaller firms. (Human Health Services, 2014) In order for a firm to be exempt from providing insurance to its employees they had to be classified as a non-profit organization or a Church. A businesses classification will give them exemptions for example a non-profit organization. A non-profit organization can be defined as “an incorporated organization which exists for educational or charitable reasons, and from which its shareholders or trustees do not benefit financially” (Investor Words, 2014). Because of the mandates of the Affordable Care Act, it is now in the center of litigation in which a for-profit organization is asking for exemptions from providing women health care, contraceptives, due to the owner’s religious belief. ...What immediate problems did Henry VII after he had defeated Richard III (at Bosworth) and how did he solve them? His claim to the throne was weak; in fact it was the weakest claim since William the Conqueror. His claim was through an illegitimate line (somewhere in his family history two of his ancestors had not been married) and he was technically barred from the throne. Other claimants (people who thought they had a right to be King) included: 1. Edward, Earl of Warwick – Nephew of Richard III and Edward IV. 2. John de la Pole, Earl of Lincoln – Nephew of Richard III and Edward IV. He had been nominated by Richard III as his heir. 3. Edmund de la Pole – Nephew of Edward IV and Richard III. 4. The Princes in the Tower - Edward V and his brother Richard. Sons of Edward IV. The Yorkists still had support in the north of England and in Ireland and had a powerful ally in Richard III's sister Margaret, dowager duchess of Burgundy. This made it inevitable that other claimants would crop up and challenge Henry for the throne. Many of the barons/nobles still possessed armies (retainers) that were a constant threat to Henry and peace in the country. (Overmighty subjects) The crown's treasury was nearly empty after the 100 Years War and the subsequent War of the Roses. England did not enjoy good relations with many countries of Europe. There was a constant threat of invasion from Europe on behalf of the Yorkists. All the powers of Europe doubted Henry's ability to survive, and most were...

Busi 600 Forum 2

...BUSI600: Forum 2 Group 2 – Johnson, Joyner, Kramer, Lyons, Moore Liberty University Dr. Johnathan Schultz January 26, 2014 Forum 2 Question 19.3 The role of president in an organization is very time consuming and requires a broad knowledge base. The president must be informed to make decisions on various issues, such as: financial, investment, operational, marketing, and strategic. A study of the company’s pension plan compared to other firms in the industry should be in a management report form. Management reports are best when the reader has little time to absorb details and needs prompt exposure to critical findings (Cooper & Schindler, 2014). The order of the management report allows clients to grasp conclusions and recommendations quickly, without much reading, or with efficient use of time in this case (Cooper & Schindler, 2014). It may be helpful to have a technical report available for further information at the president’s request, but a management report should be presented first. It is likely that the President would rely on a Chief Financial Officer to further evaluate the report, or maybe even an actuary if the pension plan analysis involves heavy calculations and projections. A technical report format should be used to describe a marketing experiment for submission to the Journal of Marketing Research. A technical report is “the report that other researchers will want to see because it has the full story of what was done and how it was...
