Kimberly Hiatt was caring for a critically ill eight-month-old baby when she accidentally gave the patient 10 times the correct amount of calcium chloride resulting in the death of the infant. This action led to the termination of Hiatt’s career at Seattle Children’s Hospital and later led Hiatt’s suicide.
