Custom Coffee & Chocolate is a small company run by two friends – Bonnie Brewer and Stacy Kim. Ladies own a small café and a shop located near a university that serves unique blends of coffee and chocolate. Customer base consists of mostly students, faculty staff and local residents. Café has been operating for several months and has finally approached a moment where both Stacy and Bonnie have to reflect on the future development. Owners have to agree and develop working strategies that can help them sustain and even expand the business. In order to develop such strategies, we should begin by performing a SWOT analysis. A thorough and well-completed analysis will give us insights needed in the strategy formulation phase. Most of the companies concentrate on strategies that match their strengths and opportunities, as well as weaknesses and threats. The key to business success is to exploit any opportunities where we feel strong and mitigate any risks where our organization struggles.
SWOT analysis
Undoubtedly the strongest point of Custom Coffee & Chocolate is a formal education and work experience of Bonnie and Stacie. In addition, they have unique products. Furthermore, they chose a superb location and arranged a cozy café. Owners have quite an extensive knowledge of their client base that allowed to acquire their loyalty.
On the other hand, Bonnie and Stacy almost ran out of money. They have significant cash flow and debt issues. In addition, there is a weak customer service in terms of opening hours, available space and lack of staff. Most of their business is takeout. Café has an almost non-existence online presence and no delivery services. Their location lease is going to expire soon.
