Weakness
Better themselves against the competition such as Breeze all inclusive resort and other family resorts that are popping up all over the place
They need to promote more from within instead of always bringing persons in especial for management roles. Most times they bring person in, someone has to train them to do things the way Beaches wants it to be done so someone who they person will oversee have to training and that’s not right.
Showcase more local culture, food, music, drinks, and talent. The two Resorts in Jamaica are good, but for the Property in Turks & Caicos, More local items such as the rum, native foods and more of that Country Culture need to be shown.
Low base salary for the team members. A lot of the staff in both Jamaica and in Turks & Caicos are leaving and going to other resorts (the competition) due to a better base pay.
Decrease in team member’s benefit. Compared to 10 years ago, a lot of the benefits that the team members had have now decrease such as discount, frequency in passes to enjoy the property and the rate in which the staff pay when visiting another property have not only increase but it’s now on a per person base as opposed to per room.

Opportunities
Could partner with Gerber and provide more of their products such as baby food and clothing to their guest on property.
Could partner with Toy are US to enhance their selection of toys as not everyone is a Fan of Sesame Street.
Expand into more Dentations such as Cube, Mexico, Virgin Islands and Belize
Offer onsite ATM, free Internet, onsite barbershop (there is only a solon), and more watersports actives such as jet skiing and parasailing.

Threats
A lot of upcoming competitions offering family packages and existing resorting enhancing their product by adding more fun pack actives.
Other Resorts being able to offer lower rates based on the destination.
With all resorts in the Caribbean, the threat of natural disaster such as hurricane and earthquakes can cause major damage and possibly destroy the whole resort at any given time.
Families are not able to travel together due to cost.
Recession restricting travel due to lack of funds, loss of jobs etc.

The Rotary Cove

...Goderich-Huron branch, as they are responsible for The Cove’s operations and would then need to cover those costs. In the long run, the YMCA could end up discontinuing operations of The Cove and the community could lose this safe and family-friendly beach that they love. Anne-Marie also needs to consider that Goderich is a small, tight-knit community who enjoy that The Cove is governed by the YMCA and what it stands for. YMCA’s in Canada are committed to achieving and upholding a shared vision. This vision includes “building stronger kids, families and communities and making our communities better places for everyone to live 1”. As outlined in the SWOT analysis2, The Cove is enjoyed by tourists and residents but lacks the necessary revenues to continue operating. There is competition for The Cove as there are several other public and private beaches to enjoy as well as other...

Destination Marketing

...Executive Summary The Gold Coast is indisputably Australia's most popular holiday destination and offers many different types of beachfront accommodation, award-winning dining, shopping and thrilling attractions. This marketing report aimed to devise a marketing strategy for this location. It began by scanning the macro environment and found that the location is politically stable, although currently the entire world is being severely affected by the economic recession. This has therefore meant that non-essential spending is down, which will have a negative economic impact. Conversely, new technologies such as efficient aircraft are allowing for more visitors to the region. A current concern is that of global warming, being a beach front city, this will affect the climate and cause beach erosion. The Gold Coast and Queensland are famous for the Sun and Surf as well as a very active party and bar scene, and some world famous events. The existing marketing plan has made good use of these factors, although the report has shown that it may be further refined. A brand-new aspect of the Gold Coast promotion has been introduced in the form of a new logo which consists of a rainbow theme. It has been designed to appeal to several markets such as self discoverers, active explorers, and stylish travellers, un-winders, social fun-seekers and connectors which are further outlined in the target market section. In order to promote the destination effectively, this report...

Swot Analysis

...Haas, Frederick-SWOT SWOT Analysis- Description Before developing a SWOT analysis it is necessary to understand the organization’s business plan. This will ensure that the marketing plan supports the business plan. Elements of the business plan consist of the organizational level mission, vision, goals, objectives, and strategies. The marketing department must understand the organization’s mission, or what defines the company’s reason for existence. It must also understand the strategic vision, which is where the company wants to see itself in the future. It must prioritize organizational goals that support the mission and vision to become attainable objectives. From this information an organizational strategy is developed to accomplish the mission and objectives. There are four dimensions of an organizational strategy that must be analyzed in order for marketing to support organizational goals. The first dimension is a competitive strategy that Michael Porter separates into three categories: Low-cost, differentiation, and focus. The process involves identifying the organization’s core competencies, or, things the firm does exceedingly well. If the organization determines that part, or all of their core competencies are superior to those of their competitors, they are defined as distinctive competencies. A sustainable competitive advantage can be realized when an organization focuses on their distinctive competencies, especially if it is difficult for...

Cultural Analysis Brazil

...| 2015 | | | [Cultural Analysis - brazil] | MKT 6003 RESEARCH PAPER | Abstract I currently lead a team called Pontonet as part of my responsibilities as Sr. Strategic Customer Manager who is based in Brazil. When I began my job in August I was quickly introduced and held meetings with my manager and a co-worker. I noticed very quickly that our abrasive American ways of communicating was not effective by listening in on conference calls with the three of us. I noticed as well that there was a seemingly deep sense that creating a more relation type of Management/Vendor management style was would make for a clearer and cleaner method than the alternative. I learned in haste that my report Jurandir at Pontonet began to surpass expectations quickly in comparison to other vendors in a surprisingly quick time frame. This paper shall also attempt to analyze the business and social culture of Brazil from an American point of view. In addition my purpose is to help achieve the most success when participating in a leadership activity with Pontonet. By having a better grasp of the cultural norms I believe that it will greater help me to have an advantage as a leader for this 3rd party management role I have accepted as part of my responsibilities. Marble Slab Creamery

...Case you are critiquing: For each of the major points below, comment on how well the case analysis team addressed each. This critique should not exceed three pages when complete. 1. Situation Analysis – how well was the SWOT analysis completed? Was there any missing information? Did the students clearly label what was internal and external to the case? Overall, the team did a good job identifying the main points of the situation analysis. However, it did not clearly label which points are internal and which are external to the case. We would also recommend including the following missing points into SWOT: One of additional strengths that we would include is the high quality of the ice cream and “super premium” ingredients that Marble Slab uses in its products. Penny Thomas can use this strength to the benefit of her promotion strategy to stress brand differences to better position the franchise against its competitors. Another strong characteristic of a franchise is assistance with expertise in areas like financing, real estate and marketing. This is a major advantage for a startup company, where potential financial risks can be minimized due to backing by the head company. A weakness that was not pointed out is relatively high pricing of Marble Slab offerings. This weakness indicates that Penny Thomas will have to target a market of customers who would be willing to pay for “affordable luxury.” An additional opportunity that we would suggest...
