Policies and procedures are put in to place by the governing body, in order to ensure that children with special educational needs are treat justly and are given the same valued opportunities and other individuals in the mainstream educational setting.
The special educational need and disability code of practice (SEND) has recently been updated (2014) in order to support individuals from birth to twenty-five years old. The framework states that it will ‘provide equality, opportunity and enable high achievement’ for children with special educational needs.
The SEND framework specifies that a child with a special educational need ‘can achieve well in their early years’ providing that they are given the appropriate support and inclusive care in their educational setting. The framework also articulates that practitioners should stretch targets of a child with autism and encourage them to have high ambitions; By doing so it ensures that children are given the same individual opportunities as other individuals who do not have any educational needs, giving a child the same opportunities also means that they are included in the educational setting. …show more content…
The framework states that the educational setting should work in partnership with parents when making decisions and possible changes to provision. For example- the practitioner should inform parents and children when a new special educational needs coordinator is being employed into the setting. In order to allow the parents and child to be a part of the of the process, the setting my allow them to participate in the interview in order to assist in making decisions of who they think would be successful as their SENCO; this allows the child and parent to be included in the provision that is being provided. The substantial focus is on the demographic development of Germany, all data refer to this country. The main reason for this focus on a single country is that we want to show how the tools of demography can actually be used for the analysis of demographic problems. The text consists of two parts. Part I introduces the conceptual framework and explains basic statistical notions. This part also includes a short chapter that explains how we speak of “models” and why we do not make a sharp distinction between “describing” and “modeling” demographic processes. Then follows Part II that deals with data and methods. In the present version of the text, we almost exclusively discuss mortality and fertility data; migration is only mentioned in Chapter 6 and briefly considered in the context of a Leslie model at the end of the text. In addition to providing a general introduction to concepts of demography, the text also intends to show how to practically work with demographic data.
