The Impact of Action The world seems to belong to those who reach out and grab it with both hands. It belongs to those who do something rather than just wish and hope and plan and pray, and intend to do something someday, when everything is just right. Successful people are not necessarily those who make the right decisions all the time. No one can do that, no matter how smart he is. But once successful people have made a decision, they begin moving toward their objectives stepby-step, and they begin to get feedback or signals to tell them where they’re off course and when course corrections are necessary. As they take action and move toward their goals, they continually get new information that enables them to adjust their plans in large and small ways. It’s important to understand that life is a series of approximations and course adjustments. Let me explain. When an airplane leaves Chicago for Los Angeles, it is off course 99 percent of the time. This is normal and natural and to be expected. The pilot makes continual course corrections, a little to the north, a little to the south. The pilot continually adjusts altitude and throttle. And sure enough, several hours later, the plane touches down at exactly the time predicted when it first became airborne upon leaving Chicago. The entire journey has been a process of approximations and course adjustments. What’s the big problem? The big problem is that there are no guarantees in life. Everything you doeven crossing the streetis filled with uncertainty. You can never be completely sure that any action or behavior is going to bring about the desired result. There is always a risk. And where there is risk, there is fear. And whatever you think about

The Basics About Money and Its Accumulation

...The Finance & Accumulation Protocol to achieve financial independence -The Basics of Money and its accumulation- "You will never achieve wealth in spending money, wealth can only be achieved in saving money." -Helmut Ament- Why do we Fail with Money? We fail with Money and we don’t build wealth and financial security because we make a few key, consistent errors. These are common errors that are caused by our mental “hard-‐wiring” and our inability to calculate the long-term effects of our decisions. If you learn About these errors and you overcome them, you can take control of your financial life and Your financial success. If you don’t learn about these errors, you’ll keep making them, and you’ll keep going down a path of having less success with money, less control of your life, and less of a feeling of security and safety for yourself and others. If you want to get control of your financial life... and get control of your ENTIRE life... then you must educate yourself and learn how to do it. No one is going to do it for you. A Lot of people think that money is something you dont talk about, something bad. Some people think that people who have money are “bad people” and people who are poor are “good people.” Regardless of how you feel about money, what you think money is, or whether or not you think that people who have money are good or bad, it’s likely that you DO FEEL one thing: Most people feel like... What Is a President to Do?

...founded by a well experienced person in the manufacturing industry. Bill Jenson, the founder, had a manufacturing experience of 20 years. Bill had a passion for innovation and development, as well as the desire to succeed in business which is why he, together with his employees worked hard to grow the company. A new investor takes over, believing that the management is good, but gets frustrated after five years because of the declining sales figures. Hiring Richard Haberer, as new president of the company, the investor trusts that Richard will turn things around. In this case, I will analyze the situation that Richard faces, discuss the possible options that he has, to meet the goals put before him and finally, give my recommended course of action. At the time of Richard’s appointment Richard is appointed at a time when the investor feels that the company is not making as good sales as they have always made in the previous years. Looking at the figures, the sales are dropping each year and growth is stagnating. Although the financial performance has remained strong, the relatively flat sales will eventually drop below the desired level and the company may lose its market share. The biggest problem in Jensen industries is complacency. Because of their large market share and the previous years of overwhelming growth, the management team may have relaxed, paying little or no attention to innovation and creativity. An article about signs that employees are becoming complacent said...

Responsibility

...Responsibility and Success Each individual has a certain level of responsibility ensuring good behavior and character regardless of his or her upbringing and certain life experiences. “Individual responsibility also includes being accountable for the degree and level of your health, wealth, success and happiness” (Personal Growth, 2005, para. 1). Brian Tracy (2006) explains: Because you have freedom of choice and because you have chosen each and every circumstance of your life, you are completely responsible for all of your success and failure, your happiness and, your present and future. (para. 5). Motivation, success, happiness, and achievement can be received when an individual is responsible. Responsibilities, roles, and functions are some of the roles adults hold whether as a spouse, employee, student, or parent. Issues will always arise while challenging an individual’s character, emotions, and strengths. Proctor suggests a responsible person “should be able to determine what right or wrong, what's good or bad and what's within your control” (para. 3). Once a person accepts responsibility, he or she took a leap forward into maturity (Tracy, 2006, para. 5). An ethical person fulfills his or her duties responsibly and does the right thing. He or she makes responsible choices that benefit many various individuals simultaneously. I try to balance my reasoning skills (rationality) and intuition (sensibility) to decide how to fulfill my...

Personal Responsibility: an Oxymoronic Perspective

...Personal Responsibility: An Oxymoronic Perspective Nick Summers Gen/200 March 28, 2012 Vlad Bolmar, Instructor Personal Responsibility: An Oxymoronic Perspective By definition, an oxymoron is a figure of speech that combines two normally contradictory words and turns them into an acceptable and understandable phrase. For example, “jumbo shrimp” and “pretty ugly” are common oxymoronic expressions. In fact, the word “oxymoron” itself is an oxymoron taken from the Greek words oxy (meaning "sharp" or "pointed") and moros (meaning "dull"). Regretfully, the phrase “personal responsibility” in today’s society is fast becoming an oxymoron. This is because so many of today’s young people are being raised with a sense of entitlement, ease, and luxury. Many of them don’t see the correlation between responsibility and success. And, as a result, when life’s misfortunes arise—and they always will—their first knee-jerk reaction is to blame other people or circumstances for their own personal woes. This, in turn, only compounds the problem by making the person feel as if they are a victim: powerless, helpless, and unable to change themselves or control any future condition. Consider the words of Steven Reiss, Ph.D. (2010), “We live in an era where few people are held responsible for their misbehavior. From elementary school children who don't do homework to oil company CEOs who engage in criminal behavior, the consequences often seem to fall on the system rather than on the...

Creativity and Innovation

...From his book named “How the Best Leaders Lead”, Brian Tracy stated that there are seven key components that leads to a business success, and one of the most crucial elements is customer satisfaction. The primary focus of a successful long-term business ought to be customer satisfaction. On top of that, the main objective of a business is to satisfy the customers’ needs. This is the only method to ensure that customers will return and keep buying the products and services offered. Therefore, in order to make sure that the customers will come again and buy the products and services provided, the manager and leader of the company must assure that the customers’ needs are well-fulfilled. This is because repeat sales have the lowest cost and the highest profit margins of all. Most successful companies try their very best to search and maintain their customers by escalating the customer value through their organisational activities. It is essential for a company to have a strong relation with the customers for the company to survive in this high competition and development-led globalisation market. In general, customers can be defined as an individual or organisation that purchases the goods or services produced by a business. On the other hand, customer value generally defined as a customer perceived preference for and evaluation of those products attributes, attribute performances, and consequences arising from use that facilitate (or block) achieving the customer’s goals and...

...Motivational Leadership: Inspiring Greatness Written By Brian Tracy | General, Leadership Success | February 9th, 2012 | 11 Comments » In life, it doesn’t matter where you’re coming from. Where are you going and how are you going to get there? Aside from what you want to accomplish, what kind of a person do you want to become as the result of all your work and effort? Men and women who achieve great things in life are invariably those who give a lot of thought to their own evolution and growth. They become exceptional people by design, not by accident. They are like master craftsmen, continually shaping and polishing their characters and personalities so that they evolve and grow into someone important and worthwhile. And so should you. The highest goal you can have for yourself is to become a leader, to become an outstanding man or woman who is looked up to, admired and respected by the people around you. Subscribe to Free Newsletters: Quote of the Day Motivational leadership is the ability to uplift and inspire people to perform at their best. Personal leadership on the other hand, is the ability to motivate yourself to do the things, and be the kind of person, that make you into a motivational leader. Both are necessary for maximum performance. They are flip sides of the same coin. Becoming a Role Model The starting point of personal leadership, motivational leadership, is to begin seeing yourself as a role model, seeing yourself as an example to others. See...

Time Management

...basis, you have to stand back and take stock of yourself and what you’re doing. You have to stop the clock and do some serious thinking about who you are and where you are going. You have to evaluate your activities in the light of what is really important to you. You must master your time rather than becoming a slave to the constant flow of events and demands on your time. And you must organize your life to achieve balance, harmony, and inner peace. Taking action without thinking is the cause of every failure. Your ability to think is the most valuable trait that you possess. If you improve the quality of your thinking, you improve the quality of your life, sometimes immediately. Time is your most precious resource. It is the most valuable thing you have. It is perishable, it is irreplaceable, and it cannot be saved. It can only be reallocated from activities of lower value to activities of higher value. All work requires time. And time is absolutely essential for the important relationships in your life. The very act of taking a moment to think about your time before you spend it will begin to improve your personal time management immediately. I used to think that time management was only a business tool, like a calculator or a cellular...

...of success that we want, we need to dream big. Every success story starts with big dreams. We need to have big dreams for ourself - which we want to be somebody rich, famous or fulfilled. We need to have a clear vision of what we want to achieve. But it doesn't stop in dreaming alone. We should actively visualize success in our mind that we can almost feel it, touch it or it is within our reach. Play this image back at every opportunity. What does it feel to triple our current income? How will our life change? What will our business look like if we achieved the million-dollar mark? Successful entrepreneurs possess an attitude of openness and faith that we can have what we want if we can simply envision it as the first step on the path of action to acquiring it. Management gurus have taught us the power of visualization - seeing ourself in our mind as having accomplished our dreams. If we want to be a successful writer, envision ourself signing books for a throng of people who have lined up to have our autograph. If we want to be rich, picture ourself in luxurious surroundings holding a fat bank account. And the process of envisioning success for we should be a constant activity! We need to think that we are successful (or will be one) every single waking hour. A personal development coach shared me her secret to help her continuously visualize her goals for the moment: when climbing stairs, recite our goal with every step we take. So if we want more money, say "I will have money"...

Leaders

...When we were assigned this assignment, I wanted to pick four leaders who I wanted to learn from. I wanted to study how they became successful leaders. I wanted to enhance my abilities from what I learned from the following four leaders. The four leaders I choose: Pope Francis, Jeff Bezos, Alexander the Great and Abraham Lincoln. I choose these four because of the style of leadership I feel they are the best in: leading by an example, being a risk taker, using strategy, and never giving up (determination). Pope Francis is very effective by setting an example. He is humble. He wants to be a Pope who for the people. He is not someone who wants fluent his position which makes him a popular Pope. He would rather drive in a FIAT 500 then a limo. (What did the leader do well ) "Francis hates any members of the clergy who sit in offices and push paper," Krames says. As a bishop in Buenos Aires, Jorge Mario Bergoglio (as he was then), would dress as a plain priest and go out at night to talk with people. "When he became pope he told one of his archbishops, 'I can't do that anymore, so you're going to do it for me.' He doesn't want a pristine church, he wants a church that's going out in the streets to find people and help them." Likewise, Francis famously chose not to move into the papal apartments but to remain in a guest suite at the Vatican, "to live in community with others," according to a Vatican representative. “[1] “The reformist Pope immediately set his sights on the...
