Tarrant County, the sixteenth most populous county in the United States, and the third most populous in Texas covers an area of 902 square miles, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Tarrant County was named in Honor of General Edward H. Tarrant of the Republic of Texas militia. Tarrant County is home to The Dallas Cowboys, The Texas Rangers, and this is where I call home. There are many talking points to cover when discussing Tarrant County, however, the three most important ones, in my opinion, are Government, Education, and Transportation.

Tarrant County is one of 254 counties created out of the Peters Colony, which was established in 1849 to serve as decentralized administrative divisions provided state services and collecting state taxes. As stated above Tarrant County was named after General Edward H. Tarrant, commander of militia forces of the Republic of Texas at the Battle of Village Creek in 1841.
