Based on the basic personality self-assessment, I would have to agree with most of them. The one I am a bit reluctant to agree upon is the Extraversion. Although I am sociable and try to be talkative I do know that at first I am known to be shy. Most of these self-assessment tests do find that I am more of a introvert than an extrovert. I do have a high tolerance to be cooperative, trusting and good natured. Although I do not always like to agree with others, I do try and find a middle point where we can both agree upon the outcome. I agree that I am responsible, dependable, and achievement oriented. I feel these characteristics allow me to be detail oriented and be dependable enough to be entrusted with important tasks. As for emotional stability, I see myself as having great emotional stability. Especially at the work place, I tend to set my emotions aside and focus more on the task itself. I feel I am emotional about things that are close to me but can always control my emotions when need be.
For my Jungian personality assessment, it came out to be ISTP. I do agree that I am more of an introvert than an extrovert. I do talk when I need to and can hold a conversation, but I do not see myself as the type to talk out loud in the middle of a classroom or be the first to initiate a conversation. As the ISTP personality itself, I would have to disagree on most of the Jung type description. As I said previously I do see myself being a bit hidden or private but they also say that ISTP are not very affectionate and have loner tendencies. I show great affection towards the people I love, or the things I love, as a matter of fact, I am known to give too much affection to my dog. As far as loner tendencies go, I don’t mind sitting at home and watching T.V. if that’s what loner tendencies mean, but I am also known not to stay home most days. I go hang out with friends, and even if we don’t have anything to do, I am more likely to be seen with friends than to be seen by myself. Also they say that ISTP are anti-tattoos, I cannot agree with this also. I am very pro-tattoos, and have some myself. I admire different types of tattoos and enjoy talking about them with people I see having interesting ink on them.
As for my conflict handling style, I would have to agree with the scores that I received. I am a bit competitive and do like winning, the only part I would have to disagree with is that I still look at the impact that it could have on others. I have a high score on collaborating because I do feel that both sides can win. Most of my friends actually come to me with situations because they know I would look at both sides of the arguments instead of just siding with my friend. I think it’s important to always put yourself in the other person’s shoes. This is probably why I also scored high on compromising.
These assessments help to give you an overall description of what you could be but definitely not exactly what you are. As for me, I do see myself as a quiet peaceful person, who cares about his family, friends, and values. I always try to find a middle point where everyone can be happy and compromise.

...An Effective Keyword Extraction Method for Videos in Web Pages by Analyzing their Layout Structures Jongwon Lee Chungkang College 162 Chungkang-ro Majang-myun Ichon-si, Gyunggi-do 467-744, Korea Abstract- This paper proposes an effective keyword extraction method for the Web videos by analyzing the structure of the Web pages. The proposed scheme calculates the relative importance (or weights) of the text blocks to a video by analyzing the distances of the text blocks to the video. This distance, called the layout distance, indicates a degree of relevance of text block to video, and could be estimated by analyzing the layout structure of Web pages. Since the Web pages with several videos such as Web pages posting UCC videos have a special layout structure, this layout analysis helps to precisely estimate the relevance of text block to the video. This weight of text block is used to compute the final weights of keywords extracted from that text block by analyzing their HTML tags and other well-known techniques such as TF/IDF. Some experiments with 1,087 Web pages that have total 2,462 videos show that the precision of the proposed extraction scheme is 17% higher than ImageRover[1]. Giseok Choi, Juyeon Jang, and Jongho Nang Sogang University 1 Sinsu-dong Mapo-gu, Seoul 121-742, Korea weights are inverse proportional to the layout distances to the video, however, they are adjusted by reflecting the structural characteristics of Web pages with videos. After assigning the weights...

Paul Farmer

...Paul Farmer and Health Care Paul Farmer is an American anthropologist and physician and also the main character of Tracy Kidders book Mountains Beyond Mountains, a book telling the true story of Farmer’s life and passion of treating people with infectious diseases. In the story Farmer strives to treat people in Haiti from mainly tuberculosis and other diseases, he has a dream of creating a better life for these people and to create a more universal health care system for those who cannot afford the necessary treatment that is needed to overall keep these people alive. Tracy Kidder in his book appears to take the side of Farmer, painting a picture to the reader of a man who has done only good in his life and seems to care more for others wellbeing than himself, “I can't sleep. There's always somebody not getting treatment.” (Paul Farmer, 24). It is obvious Farmer cares for others but you are only shown and told view points from those who have received his generous care and much of his gifts. At times throughout the book Farmer seems to express his anger at companies here in America claiming that recourses that we have should be put to better use around the world and not fought over due to money and who can pay for what. The market system to him is a serious problem that is cause many people around the world to receive no treatment and all and eventually causing preventable deaths in areas of serious poverty. His health care idea can seem radical at times, some of his ideas...

Health Research in Region 2

...HEALTH RESEARCH AGENDA SETTING IN REGION 2 Center for Health Development for Cagayan Valley (CHD-CV) Department of Science and Technology (DOST) National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) FOREWORD The current thrust of the Department Of Health conceptualized by no less than the Hon. Secretary Himself, Dr. Francisco T. Duque, III, coined as FOURmulaONE aims to “undertake critical reforms with SPEED, PRECISION and EFFECTIVE COORDINATION directed at improving the efficiency, effectiveness and equity of the Philippine Health System in a manner that is felt and appreciated by the Filipinos, especially the poor”. Now, more than ever, the health of the Filipino people should not be the sole responsibility of DOH through CHD-CV (as initial chair of the Regional R&D Coordinating Council of the consortium) rather the unified efforts of allied agencies/institutions, NGOs and most importantly, the individual himself. Unfortunately, many areas in the country, Region 02 included, have little or no access to information that affect the environment and people’s health. As a consequence, people live their lives without the benefit of some precautions that they may observe in order to safeguard their well-being. It is in this light that through the stewardship of PCHRD, through its Executive Director Jaime C. Montoya and DOST Regional office through Dir. Rustico B. Santos, DOHCHD-CV through Dir. Purita S.
