Team Project Timeline
During the next five weeks our time will gather, research, propose, and ultimately have the end result of such timeline to develop an accurate and concise research paper. The steps to take are as follow: i) August 16th : (1) During the class room we will pick up a subject to start our research on. (2) Questions will be created to better help us research the topic that was selected ii) August 23th: (3) During the second week, we will try to narrow down our topic to make it more specific for the research to be easier, i.e.: Picking the topic of vintage cars is too broad; instead we will pick Mustang engine development from its creation to the present. (4) We will research facts, definitions and consequences of such topic iii) August 30th: (5) During the third week, we will look up our information from the University of Phoenix library to get such fact, as well as finding information through valid websites. (6) Talking to people on the field that are truly knowledgeable on the topic picked. (7) Preparing a research proposal, and presenting it to the instructor on the next following class. iv) September 13th: (8) After submitting proposal with instructor, errors and suggestions will be changed and taken into consideration to write the final draft for the research (9) Writing down report down and finalize it. Submitting it to CWE tutor review and WritePoint. (10) Having another group within our same class to read and give feedback on final end result. v) September 20th: (11) Submitting and presenting final end result on the research for the topic that our group has been working on for the last 4 weeks.

...Planning Document Dr. Bagwell HRM 517-Managing Human Resource Projects Strayer University August 2012 Construct a project charter to revamp the compensation and benefits package. Title: New Beginnings for the improvement of Human Resource Functions Scope Overview: The New Beginnings project is to introduce a new and more efficient way of handling Human Resource functions to the company. The outsourcing of payroll systems and increasing the number of benefits the employees have access to will increase the morale of the company and decrease the current amount of stress associated with both. By changing the ways in which this team handles compensation and benefits packages to the current employees, this will give the team and employees more time to focus on more pressing issues. The new design of the payroll system is one that will save the company money and the personnel time. The latest benefits packages that are being offered to the staff, will change their lives for the better and make the company’s dealings with the vendors more constructive. The current systems being used for both compensation and the use of benefits packages is out dated and needed to be more accessible to all affected parties, more time efficient, technologically advanced with the times of modern communications, and needed to decrease time spent on the tasks and increase the productivity of both employees submissions and human resource personnel. Cis 517 - Case Study 1

...Case Study 1: Green Computing Research Project – Part 1 James Johnson IT Project Management – CIS 517 Dr. Howell July 31, 2012 As technology increases through massive changes it becomes apparent that the individual user must also make changes that are environmentally safe. Green IT, also known as Green Computing, is the movement towards a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective use of power and production in technology. The crux of Green IT is to double or triple the bottom line investment costs by converting existing structures and systems to this more conservative mode of operation in green computing (eweek.com, 2012). The greening of information technology (IT) offers numerous ways for companies to significantly improve the bottom line, whether through energy efficiency of computers and printers via power management, smart e-waste or asset management, or greening data centers with virtualization or cloud computing (greenbiz.com, 2012). Maintaining efficiency throughout daily operations is high on the priority list in an effort for business to not only cut costs but manage their services in a much more streamlined fashion. The transformation to become green friendly is one that requires the coordination of many areas. To ensure that working groups are formed, timelines are established, and end results are defined based off of the recommendations and requirements of the stakeholders the formation of a project management team is required. At the We Are...

Since budget cuts are in place, the spreadsheet will be developed based on existing resources and work force. We must view this as a “process improvement” effort. The current process has groups working serially. This causes bottlenecks. If one group misses their date, it creates a chain reaction of missed dates through the other groups. Currently we are not tracking any of the obstacles that can occur during the design phase. By using the spreadsheet, all participants will have an opportunity to log their input, and flag any concerns. The spreadsheet will contain the following items: • PBA requirements • Task Definitions • Time to complete • Issues/Comments • Release Date CREATE A CORE TEAM The Core Team will be comprised of one member from each group.
