Technology and Social Change

Technology has been developing since the early 1980’s, however, home computers were unheard of then. By the early 1990’s everyone had at least one home computer, laptops were in their infancy. Along with technology social media started about the same time in the 1990’s, and has flourished into the 21st century of what we are today with Facebook, Twitter, and Insta-grams. Between technology and social media, we have quite the socialization all over the world. In some instances this could not be a good thing they way technology has advanced, although so have the criminals with their hacking, lying, and deceit on the social media sites. All of this was made for people to meet people, get in touch with people you have lost touch with over the years, and reconnecting with family.
The way computers have become so much a way of life for people along with cell phones, and the internet. Most people can’t function without their laptops, and cell phones, including tablets, during a day. In fact I have seen some young people become irate, due to not being able to reach anybody without their internet use, or non-functioning computer, laptop, or cell phone. So with these necessities, or so younger people feel that it is a big issue if they can’t post on Facebook, or reach someone through the internet. I personally like to become unplugged on the weekends. I get outside and feel much better for it....
