Technology Trends Proposal Part III
Adding telemedicine as an option to our organization is going to be a radical change. Implementing this new form of care is a major change for the entire company. How management handles this change can help make the transition somewhat smoother. Management will need to possess several necessary aspects. Some of these necessities are leadership, vision, trust, and implementation.
To be able to change, an organization must be led. A committee of people are often the leaders of a new system. Choosing the appropriate person to lead the committee is just as important as the committee itself. The leadership committee will need to be able to define the nature of the change to everyone involved in the organization. Being able to explain the rationale for adding telemedicine to the organization should be on the top of their agenda (Glaser, Lee & Wager, 2013).

Vision is another aspect that needs to be addressed by management. This should include those who will be affected by the new implementation. They should know what their new roles are and how their new work flow will be affected. This vision should be clear to all involved. Change can be difficult for some people. Understanding why and the nature of the change should help staff members through this transition (Glaser, Lee & Wager, 2013).

Being able to trust that management’s compassion, integrity, and leadership skills are in their best interest is important. If member of the organization feel this is true, they will be willing to rise to this new challenge that we are going to be undertaking. This means that leasers need to act in the best interest of our staff, patients, and company (Glaser, Lee & Wager, 2013).

This change in our organization must be planned. If

...The medical industry is always evolving with new and improved technological developments. With the constant changes in technology, healthcare organizations need to stay up to date in order to be competitive and provide the best care. We will discuss a few various types and uses of technology in the medical field as well as the impact they have on the medical facilities. We will also go over the technology trend I believe will improve the quality of care that is delivered to the patients in our healthcare organization. One of the biggest technological advancements in the medical industry is the electronic health record (EHR). Thought of as the “hub of the medical facility”, electronic health records are a version of a patient’s medical record that can be created, managed and consulted by authorized medical personnel (Wager, Lee, & Glaser, 2013). Electronic health records can be seen and used by more than one health care organization. Since paper medical records are no longer used, medical facilities no longer have to deal with illegible, incomplete or missing records. Electronic health records contain all of the patients past and present medical information to include: medications, allergies and lab results. The patient’s medical information is available whenever and wherever it is needed. The electronic health record systems have a multitude of functions available. One function that helps when it comes to patient safety is the computerized provider order entry. Computerized...

Technology Trends Proposal 2

...Technology Trends Proposal II HCS/483 Medical Robots Healthcare, education and communications are ways that individuals can interact with computers, especially in healthcare areas. Computers and software are practically in every area of healthcare. An important role of computers is the increase of its capabilities, availabilities, and accuracies of information that is used in the support and development of our health care systems. Some remarkable changes have occurred in our health care systems due to computers. One such computer is a medical robot. To allow surgeons to have a better access to areas that are more precise and tedious, a medical robot can be used for these types of operations. Privacy risks With the use of medical robots, there are more chances of privacy risks. A health care robot will be monitoring a patient 24 hours a day, and all the information that is collected and stored can be at risk. The reason for privacy risks is that all information that is collected can or will be reported to other robots, human providers or health information technologies. Healthcare robots will have capabilities of connecting to other devices and this will mean the transference of personal data. Healthcare robots will have the need of being sure they are running and functioning properly...

...Technology Trends Proposal Part II HCS/483 Health Care Information System November 16, 2015 Technology Trends Proposal Part II Telemedicine would be a benefit for our organization. The benefit that telemedicine would provide is more services to a broader aspect of patients. Although telemedicine would be a benefit, we also need to exam the risk. Some of the items to exam are privacy risk and security safeguards. Benefit of Telemedicine Telemedicine is the answer for the organization because of its balance of privacy and security. “It eliminates any problems that arises with driving, the patients don’t have to wait to see a physician and the patients are able to choose where and when they talk to a physician” (Blume, 2012). With the mission of the organization to provide the best care to our patients, telemedicine can offer top care. “Telemedicine offers a simple and convenient way to get it, which can be particularly enticing to patients that cannot access quality healthcare where they live” (Blume, 2012). Risk of Telemedicine As an organization we need to keep the fact that our computer system could be at risk. “There are some things offered by telemedicine that should give health care physicians pause, such as the free customized website for promotional means, which, though free, may attract the wrong kind of attention and subsequently put both patient and physician at risk” (Blume, 2012). If the patient has a computer system that is lacks in protection this could...

...Technology Trends Proposal Part III HCS/483 03/17/2015 Consolidation of Patient Information When making the decision to implement a new technology in to a medical organization there are many things that will need to be taken in to consideration. We need to not only make sure that this new technology is right for our organization but we will need to know before implementing this new technology what will be expected of the manager and everyone using it. Benefits of a New System Because the consolidation of patient information system is going to give not only this health care organization but all health care organizations the ability to not only look at patient information that is entered by their medical office but we will be able to look at all of the information on a given patient that is entered into the system giving us the ability to bring better care to our patients (“Consolidation of Patient Information,” 2014). The manager of the health care organization will need to be a part of the process in determining if the consolidation of patient information system is right for this organization. When the heads of a health care organization make the decision to implement a new technology such as the consolidation of patient information system they will need to take the time and sit down with the management of the organization and discus if this new technology is going to work for in this given organization). They will need to go over what it is that...

...Corning Inc. To: From: Subject: Recommendations for the three proposals Corning Inc.’s strategy – to compete in four worldwide business sectors (communications, laboratory sciences, consumer housewares, and specialty materials) and to deliver long-range superior economic benefits to its employees, consumers, communities, and shareholders – has served the organization well for over three decades as evidenced by a transformed business portfolio, record earnings, and the emergence of a new spirit within the organization. However, due to diverse changes in trends that characterize the industry’s landscape, there is the need to come up with innovative proposals that originate from diverse business sectors. The CEO of Corning Inc. hopes that these proposals would aid in the company’s continual growth. These proposals deal with (a) the laboratory sciences, (b) communication (fiber optics), and (c), the television glass division. The opinions given are a result of a comprehensive deduction of the Porter’s Five Forces model so as to identify the best paths of actions to achieve a proper competitive advantage in the industry. For the first proposal, I think it is vital that Corning maintains its relationship with Ciba Geigy. Undeniably, one of the most important factors that gave this result is that Blockbuster is not coupled to the new market trends, refusing to change its business model to new technology revenues, and most importantly, did not pay attention to the needs of its consumers. Although the business model Blockbuster rents was innovative at the time and later, like its competitor Netflix, income raided by mail, but not daring to adopt new technologies online income, hosted in the cloud timely, as they failed to take critical questions that have saved the company.
