Stepping in the fancy restaurant, I glance the room to find my date anxiously waiting. I do a quick touch-up to my hair and strut toward the candlelight dinner table. My red cocktail dress flowing with every step I take, I grab my chair and take a seat. His radiant smile lights up and we both proceed to introduce ourselves. I’ve been on many of these types of dates, but something always manages to ruin a beautiful night. The waitress comes and takes our orders, when she leaves there is that awkward silence that is left. However, I intent to break the ice, but my date, just like the other ones I’ve dated, intents to break the silence by taking out his phone and start looking through it. This is communication at its finest, at least in the world we live today.
Today’s society is undoubtedly dependent on technology. With every new product that corporations produce it leads to people wanting them. Technology has been around for quite some time and is being constantly innovated. Though technology has been able provide incredible miracles through discovering new diseases, healing diseases, and preventing them, they also can lead to causing competition not only within society but within corporations as well. As a country, we strive to become better and stronger. However, the use of technology is creating a border between communication and negotiation.
Technology, although captivating and helpful, can have its drawbacks. It is the brick wall between society and themselves. No longer are dinners at the family table as captivating without taking out a device in which cuts off communication amongst families. No longer do children explore and enjoy the outdoors due to hours and hours of indoor gaming. No longer do corporations meet in person and often discuss the product detail without the dependency of technology to do it for them. Most of all, no longer is it possible to sit down at a candlelight dinner table and have a romantic and entertaining night with a date, who is constantly checking their phone device.

At the Heart of a Company’s Strategy Is a Mission Statement

...Metro Brokers is a real estate brokerage firm in Atlanta, Georgia. Their mission statement states, “Metro Brokers is committed to providing the finest full-service real estate brokerage by employing the most professional, well-trained, and ethical real estate practitioners in the nation.” To break that down, the “what” they are trying to accomplish is to be the “finest full-service real estate brokerage.” The main way they are attempting to achieve this is “by employing the most professional, well-trained, and ethical real estate practitioners in the nation.” That is a bold statement that I expect would have specific, significant plans laid out as to specifically how they do this. It’s easy to make a great-sounding mission statement. If I was a potential customer, I would want to see the proof of their claims. Metro Brokers’ first claim is that they are “providing the finest full-service real estate brokerage.” This is backed up on their website. One way is that they have a monthly “Super Sunday” where their agents coordinate their open houses on the same day. Not only is this a helpful and convenient way for customers to see many homes for sale on the same day, the company adds fun and excitement in a unique way by giving away $1,000 to someone who has attended an open house. Everyone who attends is entered into the monthly drawing for the prize money. Another way the website supports their claim to have the best service is that they have the only website in Atlanta that lists...
