Iat Tests and Results

...IAT Tests and Results ETH/125 November 7th, 2012 After completing nine different Implicit Association Tests or IAT’s, I feel that I learned some information about myself that I did not recognize before when I refer to others, and other facts that I personally already knew about myself. Upon completing the Asian IAT, the test stated that I personally had a slight associated of European Americans with American and Asian American with Foreign compared to Asian Americans with American and European Americans with foreign. Subconsciously I didn’t realize the relations I put with one racial background compared to the other, but once I completed the test I realized that I do personally associate certain members of a background with certain cultural items. Although I do not use that in order to be malicious or rude to someone, it is a generalized reference that I have learned growing up and from where I have lived. Prejudice is not often easy to measure, as a person may feel personally toward one belief but does not show that belief to others as they know it is not the general rule. Other people can be blunt and open with prejudice, making it easier to know what their exact feeling about another is or even how they feel toward them. Being able to call it an accurate result though is hard because of a person’s feelings may change from experience to experience and may result differently in 6 months if taken today. Analysis

...The result of the tests conducted at different locations and times can be found in Table 1 of Appendices. By comparing the estimated number of people within 100 meters against the number of people found by WeChat (within 100 meters), it can be observed that there is a huge deviation. Similarly, there is a variation between the estimated number of people who is likely to be on WeChat and the number of people found by WeChat. The differences in the results can be explained by various reasons and they are as follows: 1. Generally, user with WeChat app is found to be very common in China. However, in Singapore where many social apps are available, WeChat can be seen as less popular as compared to apps like Whatsapp, Line and Tango. Hence, smaller amount of users resulted in lesser number of people discovered by WeChat’s Look Around function. 2. People might have installed WeChat but do not access or use it because they are using other apps (i.e. Whatsapp, Line, etc) to communicate. Hence, information such as user’s location is unavailable on WeChat’s web server. 3. For tests conducted outside of institution (i.e. ID 5 – 6 and 8 – 10): it is likely that users have disabled their “location services” feature of the mobile device or have chosen to delete their location data (in WeChat) to prevent unnecessary data lost and to protect their privacy. Such act affected WeChat’s app ability to determine user’s location. Alternatively, user might be connected to a network with...

Siemens Development Strategy

...the needs of their offices and customer’s needs. The main problem with NetManager was that it had mushroomed in size and strategic importance. This was the result of keeping up with the rapidly changing technological demands, and NetManager becoming a highly visible product for Siemens’ largest customers. Analyzing the various problems, we see that despite the competence of the Bangalore RDC, there is a serious number of integration problems between Munich headquarters and Bangalore. First, there was a gap in product knowledge and competence, which resulted in unrealistic expectations such as project deadlines. Indians held proficiency in desktop and personal computing programming languages, while the Germans held extensive product knowledge concerning their EWSD technology and its functions. As the project grew in size and scope, it required interdependence amongst EWSD systems, knowledge held by German management and not sufficiently provided to Bangalore. Then, problems resulted concerning reliability and quality assurance. As the case outlines, these were due to erroneous assumptions on the part of Indian developers such as underestimated system usage. However, let us look at those factors which would have mitigated these issues. First, the Bangalore office did have a testbed with which it could run assurance tests. However, the testbed sent to...

Leadership Significance in the September 11, 2012 Benghazi Attack

...with each other. There had been multiple requests to the state department for increased security forces even months before the attack. These requests were denied due to lack of efficient intelligence information supporting the request. Without the proper information through intelligence US troops would have been put at a greater risk by going into the unknown rather than preparing for the mission ahead. Once the attack began there was not enough time for US forces to arrive and cause any changes in the outcome. The decision to send more security should have been made long before the attack occurred. There was absolutely not enough security, and had there been the results could have been significantly better. Sufficient security may or may not have prevented the attack but there is a chance that the results could have resulted in fewer deaths. Strong security forces can affect outcomes of situations such as these in many ways. A large security team can cause intimidation against those committing these attacks just by having the numbers to closely fight the group they are facing. This attack had very little security causing the look from an outsiders view to be seen as a greater chance of success while more security would do the opposite and cause thoughts of possible failure instead. In areas such as this where we cannot rapidly respond to uprisings and threats we should have roaming patrols. By implanting this security posture we could increase response time in areas...

The overall aim of the project is to investigate the test-taking strategies used by Greek users of English when performing the activities of the Greek State Language Exams, known as Kratiko Pistopiitiko Glossomathias (KPG) and whether these can be successfully taught. The aim of this paper is twofold. It firstly aims at discussing findings regarding the testtaking strategies candidates claim to use when responding to the KPG reading tasks and, secondly, at presenting the research instrument used for such an investigation. The research instrument, which is a closedresponse questionnaire, has been designed at the RCEL and administered to candidates who sat for the KPG examination at the November 2008 administration. The findings, which actually demystify the way candidates deal with the reading activities, may prove useful not only for teachers who prepare students for the KPG exam and for the actual candidates but also for syllabus and materials designers. 1. Construct and Support an Argument

...Construct and Support an Argument Angela Miars University of Phoenix Management MGT 521 Russell Arenz III July 12, 2010 Construct and Support an Argument My decision to continue my education and pursue an MBA is to gain the required skills needed to start a new career in my near future. Pursuing an MBA will make it possible to live a better economic life and to have a good job with security and top pay. I have chosen this route even with the current economic situation, knowing that new jobs may not be available by the time I finish with my MBA. An MBA would benefit me greatly in a variety of ways. Pursuing an MBA will aid in the development of the skills I need in the finance and accounting areas. Of course the increase in pay from possessing an MBA does not hurt either. When researching jobs online I am finding that by having a master’s degree, the pay is substantially higher than those with a bachelor’s degree. Other than career and financial reasons, I do have a personal goal to achieve more than my siblings. Out of four sisters only two of us have a bachelor’s degree. I would love nothing more than to become the other sibling to obtain a masters degree. Plain and simple, I want to do better than all of my sisters. In this economy, having a good paying job with security is vital. “In nearly every sector of the globe, the prospect of making more money and living a better economic life draws thousands of students to MBA programs” (Euders.com, 2009)...

Testcycle

...as one of the recent “innovative” approaches to assessments most pursued by states. CBT is lauded as the answer to having cheaper and speedier test delivery for state and district-wide assessments. It is also seen by some as an avenue toward greater accessibility for students with disabilities. In this report we explore the context of CBT, current state computer-based tests, and considerations for students with disabilities, in part as follow-up to a similar exploration that occurred in the early 2000s when just a few states were beginning to develop and implement CBT for their state assessments. Nine considerations for states and districts are presented: • Consider the assumptions and beliefs of various stakeholders about computer-based instruction and assessments. • Consider the system as a whole, from the computer infrastructure to classroom and instructional experiences with computers before deciding whether and how to use CBT. • Consider the computer or online platform first, with input from individuals who know students with disabilities and their accessibility needs. • Consider a process for bringing in the needed expertise to delineate the specific accessibility features of CBT, and to determine what specific accommodations may still be needed by students with disabilities, as well as to determine whether a computer-based test may create new accessibility issues. • Determine the policies for which accessibility features will be available to all students and which are...
