...The Future of Cloud Computing Melissa Gilchrist INF 103: Introduction to Digital Literacy Brent Ferns March 3, 2014 The Future of Cloud Computing Cloud computing is defined as being a replacement of all computers with “dumb” terminals that have no software or complex operating systems on them (Bowles 2013). This means that applications and the data used are being housed online rather than being put on your computer. As Americans these days we at some point are already using some of the cloud applications. With the future of technology rising in this day and age some wonder what the future actually holds for cloud computing and just how it will play a major role in society. After reading my textbook and the two scholarly articles I chose for my research paper, they all discussed the importance of cloud computing in the future and its advantages. This will have a large impact on technology and the use of computers. One advantage of cloud computing discussed in the course material Introduction to Digital Literacy (Bowles 2013) was the start-up time of the actual cloud. Software companies such as Google are now building operating systems that exist on-line rather than on your computer you use. This means that there would be non complex systems to boot up the computer. You would only have to press the power button and in seconds you will be connected to the internet as long as you have an internet connection. Another advantage would be the fact that computer...

...Cloud Computing Praveen Reddy, Polam Wilmington University SEC-6040 1. Introduction Cloud computing is the term that describes about the computer related services through the internet. As technology developments are increased significantly, many individuals and businesses are interested to use software and hardware services that are managed by third parties at remote locations (Mirzaei, 2008). The term “ cloud “ can be truly understandable how the cloud can be a value to an organization by providing various services like online data storage, social networking, online business applications and webmail’s etc. because, the cloud computing allows access to information and computer related resources from any location that has network connection (Mirzaei, 2008). 2. Components of Cloud Computing: 2.1 Cloud Client: Clients play a key role in providing access for users to client devices which consists of computer software and hardware that depends on cloud computing for application delivery. And also there are several applications which are designed specifically for delivery of cloud services and it is essentially useless without the application. For example which can include devices like computers, mobile phones and applications like operating systems, browsers etc (Nichols, 2011). The cloud client has three different types, they are * Mobile clients. * Thick clients (Nichols, 2011). * Thin clients (Most popular) (Nichols, 2011). 2.2 Distributed Servers:...

...Cloud Computing Reginald L. Butler Dr. Jim Marion CIS 109 September 10, 2013 Cloud Computing History and Origns This quarter at Strayer University I took a course called Intro Management Information Systems online. There were many concepts and technologies we studied, but the one I was most fascinated about was Cloud Computing. Cloud technology has become very popular among consumers over the past decade. The tech is used in a wide variety of electronic devices such as PC’s, smart phones, tablets, streaming devices, etc. Even more important is the impact of cloud computing on the business market. They ways in which a company can use the cloud are limitless if they so choose to invest in the technology. Recently, both Sony and Microsoft stated that cloud technology will play a pivotal role with their next generation consoles coming out this fall. With all the talk of cloud computing going on today one has to wonder how did it become so popular? What are the origins of this new found tech and what will cloud computing evolve to in the future? Cloud computing is a technology that the world is just becoming familiar with, but the tech is not new. According to Wallace (2013), cloud computing was once referred to as “on-demand infrastructure” and has been around since the mid 90’s. Latter in 1995, the on-demand infrastructure was known as “Shared Web Hosting” which features included multi-tenant, automated provisioning, and an easy-to-use interface or (UI) as it’s known...

Cloud computing is emerging as a strategic model for big IT businesses that want to outsource some of their regular Information technology needs or IT needs at top demand times, and also for small organization in search of an inexpensive solution for their computing needs. Cloud computing is technology which attracts the business managers, for its less cost, infrastructure and has the long believed dream of computing as a utility and has the potential to transform a large part of the Information technology industry, making software more smart as a service and shaping the way information technology hardware is designed and bought. It is massive computing resources, deployed among virtual datacenters and it is allocated to particular users and tasks and accessed as a service through a user interface such as internet website. (WALLIS PAUL, 2008) In year 1999 the salesforce.com was the first to deliver the use of applications through a simple website. In the early 2000’s business like the Microsoft, IBM, and amazon started covering Cloud Computing. Microsoft started by using software as a service through website services. In the beginning of year 2009, Sun Microsystems launched the virtual data center. This information center offers a way for folks to host anything they wanted at a minor fee instead of adding storage space to their personal laptops or desktops. For example, Amazon launched the...
