What is abortion you may ask, well as define by dictionary.com “Also called voluntary abortion, the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy”. According to dictionary.com pro-choice means “supporting or advocating legalized abortion” and pro-life means “supporting or advocating legalized abortion”. Pro-life supporters believe it is the right for the woman to decide to keep the baby or to have it aborted. No matter what the circumstances, it’s the woman’s body and the decision is completely up to her. On the other hand, pro-life supporters believe an abortion is the same as murder and the law should be the same way. The words "eternal security" are not found in the Bible. But neither is the word substitute, or the word Trinity. Yet Christians have always believed that Christ was our substitute; that God is a Trinity. Though the exact word that we may use is not found in the Bible, the teaching is there! The terminology used by some when discussing the doctrine of the safety of the Believer may not be found exactly per say but the teaching is there, without doubt. The Bible says, "The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous runeth into it and is safe." (Proverbs 18:10) "The fear of man bringeth a snare, but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe." (Proverbs 29:25) The word "safe" used in both these verses, is an absolute term. You cannot be half safe. If you are only half safe then you are not safe. If you are safe then you are not in any danger. You are not safe until you are completely out of danger. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe in the Bible as the guiding source based on worthy credentials. Their truths are based on the sacred writings of the Bible. For example Genesis 1:1 says: There is one almighty God and Creator who made all things. They believe in one creator who has a name, and that name is Jehovah. Jehovah’s Witnesses are members of a World Wide Christian Religion who share with others information about God and his son, Jesus Christ. They base their belief mainly on the principles found in the Holy Bible, and view first century Christianity as their source. Their founder is Charles Taze Russell whose background and study of the Bible led him to conclude that hellfire does not exist, God is not a Trinity, and that 1914 marked the second coming of Christ. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that all scriptures are inspired of God and beneficial, but some people have even claimed that they are not even Christians. They believe that God has given precious life to grow inside of a woman and it must not be aborted. In the bible in the book of Jeremiah 1:5, it states, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (Souls, 1) From the first moment of the unborn child’s existence, they have their rights as a person and it is wrong to take an innocent persons life. From that bible verse, it proves to Catholics the reason as to why abortion should not be done in all stages. Abortion is the termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo before viability. An abortion can occur spontaneously, in which case it is often called a miscarriage. It can also be purposely caused in which case it is known as an induced abortion. The term abortion most commonly refers to the induced abortion of a human pregnancy (Merriam-Webster, 2014, 1). There is also disagreements on how some Catholics take abortion. Some agree that abortion is fine up to a certain stage and others will disagree and say that abortion is a sin at all stages. ...Perspective Inspiring Bible Characters Solomon As we continue our study of inspiring bible characters, we meet King Solomon. Solomon, the son of King David, is known throughout the Word of God for his wisdom. In fact, the Lord asked him what he wanted most and Solomon requested that he be given a discerning heart to govern and distinguish between right and wrong (I Kings 3: 9). Solomon, in effect, was asking God for wisdom. Scripture tells us that God granted Solomon his heart’s desire and gave him great insight and a breadth of understanding. Solomon’s wisdom was greater than any other man (I Kings 4: 29-31) . Because we know King Solomon to be the wisest mortal man on Earth, it makes sense for us to examine his life and words to gain insight for ourselves. The Bible tells us that Solomon is the author of the Book of Proverbs. ...How Can We Know the Bible Is the Word of God? A Religion Profile from International Students, Inc. The Question Posed Christians claim the Bible is God’s Word. That means that they believe the Bible is a verbal revelation from God that makes it unique from every other book. But how can such a claim be verified? First, we would expect certain things to be true about a book from God. Such characteristics might also be true about humanly-authored books, but we would expect that, at the very least, they would be true about God’s book. Such characteristics would include the following: • It would claim to be God’s Word. • It would be historically accurate when it speaks on historical matters. • Its authors would be trustworthy. • It would be thematically unified and without contradictions. • We would have received accurate copies of the original manuscripts. Second, because God is unique, His book would bear characteristics that could be true of it alone. Such characteristics would distinguish God’s book from all other books in such a way that it could not be counterfeited. These characteristics would include the following: • It would make statements that would reveal knowledge about the way things work beyond the knowledge of its day. • It would make predictions about the future that could not be known through natural means. • The message would be unique. • The messengers would be confirmed by miracles. • The words would have a transforming power.
