The box has changed the world as we see it. The box has provided the world with opportunities that were once thought impossible. It comes in all shapes and sizes, which is the worst when it comes to deciding which box is right for your needs. Imagine if we only had one box to choose? That would be a nightmare. The most common color for a box is brown, but can be customized to suit a person’s personal tendencies. The box is fairly easy to assemble and package. Like bread and butter, a box and scotch tape always go together. The scotch tape will help the box survive its harsh journey to wherever it is destined to go. The box is like a human body, everything must fit perfectly and there shall be no gaps in between. If there are any problems, all hell will let loose. Not to worry though fellow shippers, there are many ways to secure your precious package. From bubble wrap, newspapers, to packing peanuts, etc. Heck! Come up with your own way of protecting your goods. The best thing about a box is that it can be recycled many times as you want it to, as long as the foundation is intact. It may be seem mundane thinking about a box and what to do with it, but people have come with plethora of ways on how to use a box. Like, children building pirate ships and castles to fulfill their ludicrous imaginations. Sad and unfortunate, but even some homeless people use boxes to sleep in. There even is competition between boxes these days. Companies looking to see who can transport the most boxes around the corner or around the world. A box can even be taken apart and be used for other projects. For example, a part of a box can be used as a door stopper. Best of all, it can be used as a cup holder so there will be no beverage prints on the table later on, and mom won’t beat the crap out of you. It seems like that without boxes there would chaos everywhere. Companies would stop

Hawthorne vs Jackson (Symbolism)

...Goodman Brown” and “The Lottery” Symbolism is when the author uses an object or reference to add deeper meaning to a story. Symbolism in literature can be subtle or blatant; it can also be used sparingly or considerably. An author may repeatedly use the same object to convey deeper meaning or may use variations of the same object to create an overarching mood or feeling. Many authors use symbolism to further foretell and capture the important elements of the story. Both Nathaniel Hawthorne in “Young Goodman Brown" and Shirley Jackson in “The Lottery’, use symbolism in these short stories. The stories both contain symbols describing evil. Hawthorne’s symbolism describes good versus evil, while Jackson's symbolism reflects the evil nature within society as a whole. The first two characters that Hawthorne introduces, Young Goodman Brown and his wife Faith, are both symbolic in their names. Brown's name symbolizes youth and good nature. Brown is a young man throughout the story, and his youth suggests that he has yet to be corrupted by the world and is still innocent. Hawthorne writes, "Faith, as the wife was aptly named, thrust her own pretty head into the street, letting the wind play with the pink ribbons on her cap, while she called to Goodman Brown" (Hawthorne 331). Faith’s name symbolizes the trust and virtue that is found within a good wife. It may also hint at the faith that Young Goodman Brown struggles to hang Haney 2 onto. As the story goes on, Goodman Brown meets...

Hawthorne uses names and objects to enhance the theme, and Jackson mainly utilizes names to stress the theme, although she does have one object as a symbol of great importance to the theme. The stories both contain symbols describing evil. The majority of Hawthorne's symbols describe religion (both good and evil), but Jackson’s symbols reflect the evil nature within society as a whole. There exists a symbolic act in each story. The short stories both share the use of symbols, but the symbols are used to express different thoughts in ones mind while reading them. Magic Box Report

...Advanced Culinary P&P1 | Magic Box and Menu Design | Paper 215014 | Lyle Robertson 1111431 4/30/2012 | Contents Introduction 3 Summary 3 Menu 4 Menu Overview 5 Ingredients list and Usage 9 References & Word Count: 11 Introduction The essence of a Magic box is to show culinary skills and creativity in producing a dish that has complimentary and balanced flavours. This dish is created from a list of ingredients with emphasis on texture, colour, taste, balance, nutrition and presentation. With this criteria in mind I set out to produce two menu items, one entree and one main, that utilised as many ingredients as possible from the list provided and that encompassed the above elements. Starting with the listed proteins as the central components to each dish, I then took into consideration the season and how best I could utilise my strengths. Inspired by the composition of a dish from La Chapelle, London I began with my entree and developed a concept using the lighter of the two proteins the John Dory and Scampi. To create my main dish, I explored the best cooking method suited for the cut of meat available, the beef cheeks. I then made the decision that beef cheeks are best braised as this enhances the flavour of the meat and ensures it is tender. With my cooking technique selected I then utilised the list of ingredients available to build and create flavours that would compliment this. This report will set out to provide further insight...

...Poetry Society of America, with a poem entitled ‘The Ballad of the Brown Girl’ * By 1929 Cullen had published four volumes of poetry. The title poem of ‘The Black Christ and Other Poems’ (1929) was criticized for the use of Christian religious imagery - Cullen compared the lynching of a black man to the crucifixion of Jesus. * It was rumoured that he was in a relationship with Harold Jackson. I chose these two poems as it really illustrates the suffering that black people suffered in America during this era, also the fact that black people were incredibly talented and have perhaps chosen to not pursue their dream or utilise their talent as they were not supposed to be superior to whites. The Box

...The Box Suddenly, his cell phone in his robe pocket vibrated. He answered the phone, and heard the familiar voice of a client, a client that held a heavy wallet, “Mr. Jenkins, how are you?” “Ms. Chambers, it’s good to hear from you.” “Listen, Orson, I think I have to drop the November contract. Well… I don’t really want to say the reason… But I just don’t think it will work out, my apologies.” “Well…” “Goodbye!” With this, she hung up swiftly. He used to be a very busy man, but now, he seemed to be cut off from reality, everything around him seemed dead A six feet young man in his bathrobe was strolling around his apartment living room; he was wearing a hotel flip-flop; his dark green eyes were stern; he kept scratching his neatly combed dark blonde hair; his eyebrows were knit together tightly; his hands were rubbing his temples constantly, as if thinking of something important. There, in the middle of his living room, was a glass coffee table, on top of it was an ordinary paper box ---- a plain light brown cardboard box held together with tape, no address was written on it. It seemed to have popped out from nowhere. Orson was thinking of the day when he found a box sitting on his coffee table, he remembered that he ignored its existence and kept on reading his emails. He remembered one of his clients from Russia made a call and told him that she couldn’t make to the meeting, that was the first unusual call he got after that box appeared...

My home is a rental student apartment which is located on the 8th floor of Medical Plaza, the University of Utah. Although it is not my real home, I still want to call it “my home.” My apartment is small and crowded but comfortable. My apartment is a two-bedroom apartment, which means I have a roommate. My apartment has a very clean living room, a little kitchen and a small bathroom. First, as you walk into the apartment, the white wall and white ceiling make the apartment more bright and clean. Then you can see there is a large round wooden brown desk in the center of the room. There are five leather brown chairs around the desk. There is a very large French window which almost occupies the whole north wall. The brown floor mat also makes the room more comfortable and warm. When the night is coming, you can see the very good vista through the large window. I really like seating beside the desk and have a cup of coffee, and I enjoy the wonderful time. Although the living room is not big, it is comfortable and lovely. Secondly, I will introduce my little kitchen and bathroom. The little kitchen has a large white refrigerator that always has good food and a big oven and microwave oven. Over the oven, you can find there is a clean and whiter range hoods.
