During class we watched The Grand Budapest Hotel, the film focused on two major characters Zero and M.Gustave. They were trying to proves M.Gustave innocents about the death of a rich elderly woman. But they also they are also running from the family of the elderly lady because they are trying to kill them because they stole a painting. beginning of the film I noticed how color was used throughout the film and how each scene looked like it could be captured in a frame. The setting took place in Germany,but the audience wouldn't know that until later on in the film. The costume the character were wearing were very colorful, they ranged from purple,blue,red,pink,and yellow. The hotel is pink but there are rooms that are red or yellow,so it's the first thing you notice once you watch the movie. I'm not a expert in distinguishing how the lighting was represented in the film but I noticed that it brought the characters closer to the audience. When I say that I mean,sometimes in movies it looks like the characters are right in front of you similar to 3D. The lighting made the characters distant from the background but closes enough to know that they are in the shoot. This movies highlighted the use of time,because even though an older Zero was explaining how he acquired The Grand Budapest,he telling the story like all those events happened in one day. Like in the chases scene when Zero and M.Gustave we're chasing Jopling,for killing Sergei. The chase seemed liked it lasted seconds but the director made it look like it took them a while to catch up to the Jopling. The Grand Budapest hotel seems like a ginormous place but once you enter it actually quite small. In every scene, that Zero or M.Gustave enter they are always standing close to each other making it seem that is actually a small
