The author of The Hiding Place is Corrie Ten Boom. I have not read any other books by Corrie. Her other books include Tramp for the Lord, A Prisoner and Yet, Amazing Love, and many more. Corrie’s full name is Cornelia Ten Boom, she was a Dutch watchmaker and a dedicated Christian who was alive during World War II. She also helped many Jews escape the Nazi Holocaust and when they were caught they were taken captive and imprisoned along with their whole family. The book The Hiding Place is a biography of Corrie Ten Boom. The title of the book gave me the idea it was going to be a very emotional and suspenseful book. The title of this book sparked an interest in my mind because I like books that are suspenseful, and after reading the book I figured out that the title fits the book well because of the actual hiding place that is used to hide the Jews from the …show more content…
Corrie Ten Boom was the main character and the narrator. Corrie was a Dutch woman who went to a Nazi concentration camp for harboring illegal Jews. Corrie was my favorite character because I can see some of myself in her, like how when something is important to her she puts her whole heart into it and how family means everything to her. Betsie Ten Boom is Corrie’s older sister who was a very religious person and was always full of hope. Betsie was sent to prison for the same reason Corrie was. After a long time in prison Betsie dies of an unknown illness. Casper Ten Boom is the father of the Ten Boom family. Casper taught Corrie the art of watch repair, he was also a very religious and nice man. Casper also went to prison because he was harboring illegal Jews. Casper died shortly after going to prison. Mama was the mother of the Ten Boom family. Mama died pretty early in the book, she was terribly ill but then at Nollie’s wedding she made a miraculous recovery, then shortly after had a stroke and
