The Job Network:
Changing the way students "intern" and begin their careers

I want to change the way that students and people interact with that work world. I want to create the primary website that employers go too in order to evaluate potential employees.

There are many people who are looking for jobs who have many different skills; yet, they just need the opportunity to show employers what they are capable of doing. Employers are constantly facing different kinds of business challenges everyday that students/people searching for work could provide solutions for. This website is a way for students to help business professionals with their homework (research projects, investments pitches, sales information). At work, people are given "homework", problems that need solutions, research assignments, and the list goes on. People at work are often over-worked. Is there a way that these employers could post these projects to a website that students/people looking for work could then access these projects/research assignments. These students could then submit there suggestions or how they would complete the assignment. It is basically getting students to do some of the projects that people at work are doing. It makes the work of these companies easier and it could really help small businesses. It's great because the help is free and the business owners have the discretion whether to use it or not.. It gives these companies more data/options to work with. The students, if their work is used, would then be able to put that on their virtual resume. I think this would be easiest to start in the business sector with advertising companies, finance companies, insurance companies, and other companies with math related functions or design related functions. This could also work with architecture firms that could ask design students to work with them. Architecture firms

Permissions Oversight and Overview

...permissions on the network of a medium sized company in the local area. Prior to beginning the preparation of the presentation I was approached by a senior company official and informed that an employee recently stole data from the company. The senior official also explained that the company does not have permissions or resource segregation set up on the network. Further, there are numerous file servers in the network that have full control permissions set for the “everyone” group. First and foremost it is imperative that everyone know and understand the importance of setting permissions on data contained on the company network. These permissions extend from computers and hard drives down to individual files. Each and every user on the network must be assigned specific permissions that pertain to their job. In order to safeguard sensitive data, it is necessary to ensure only those employees with a “need to know” will have access to certain data to perform their job. If an employee’s job is primarily data input, they will not need to access data pertaining to a customer’s personal information. By creating groups of users in the network it is possible to simply and easily control the access to certain information on the network. There are just a few basic user groups that are used on a network. The groups are set up and controlled by the network administrators. (Admins) The groups are Administrators; they have the highest level of access on the network. They are responsible...
