Current trends in fiction take a more internal focus; the demons are no longer caricatures that seek to maim and kill for evil reasons but personal thoughts and desires. The short story: “Save as Many as You Ruin”, written in 2007 by Simon Van Booy, explores these themes through the narrative of a father, lover, cheater, widower and liar by the name of Gerard.
