Using Google Dns

...Configuring your network settings to use Google Public DNS When you use Google Public DNS, you are changing your DNS "switchboard" operator from your ISP to Google Public DNS. In most cases, the IP addresses used by your ISP's domain name servers are automatically set by your ISP via the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). To use Google Public DNS, you need to explicitly change the DNS settings in your operating system or device to use the Google Public DNS IP addresses. The procedure for changing your DNS settings varies according to operating system and version (Windows, Mac or Linux) or the device (computer, phone, or router). We give general procedures here that might not apply for your OS or device; please consult your vendor documentation for authoritative information. Note: We recommend that only users who are proficient with configuring operating system settings make these changes. Important: Before you start Before you change your DNS settings to use Google Public DNS, be sure to write down the current server addresses or settings on a piece of paper. It is very important that you keep these numbers for backup purposes, in case you need to revert to them at any time. After changing your settings, if you encounter a problem and cannot connect to the Internet, please call our support numbers for troubleshooting instructions. We also recommend that you download this page and print it, in the event that you encounter a problem and need to refer to these instructions...

Metamorphosis

...The setting of a story often helps a reader to feel as if he were actually a part of the story. Franz Kafka and Herman Melville are two authors who chose specific settings for their stories. The settings they chose help to place their characters into perspective and to understand the problems they face. Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis and Herman Melville’s Billy Budd take place at different points in time and in different settings; Metamorphosis in an apartment in the early 1900’s, and Billy Budd on a ship in the late 18th Century. These settings help to identify the mood of each story. Metamorphosis takes place in the early 1900’s in the apartment of Gregor Samsa. Kafka does not provide a geographical setting for Metamorphosis, however, the significance of the story taking place on land is the ability of the characters to escape at their own will. Metamorphosis begins with Gregor unable to get out of his bed for work, later succumbing to the fact that he has morphed into an insect. Gregor’s extreme tardiness for work causes upheaval and chaos in the Samsa home; The father is screaming, Gregor’s boss comes to the house to find his employee, Gregor’s mother and sister are crying because they are scared, and there are guests in the home. The setting of the entire Samsa family being confined into a small apartment makes the the turmoil that arises a much larger issue than it really is. At a certain point, the Samsa family, led by their father, decides to isolate Gregor into...

Faults Within Windows

...Faults within Windows OS POS355 August 24, 2015 Dr. Boyd Faults within Windows OS The security within an operating system is vital to the overall operation of your operating system, and in this case even more important to Windows OS because of how it is used across various platforms. The security within Windows is provided to protect your operating system from any unwanted visitors whether it be accidental or not (Stallings, 2015), but not all security is perfect. Sometimes security contains flaws and some flaws are bigger than others and some flaws can destroy your system from the inside out. These faults can be patched and some are so minute that they can be resolved with something as little as switching the settings. Switching the settings sounds like something that would never be a fault, but what happens when the fault that was created was man made. The fault that lies within Windows was a nuisance but the real issued lied with how many users decided to handle that nuisance. There are three different types of hackers trying to gain access to your system. These three hackers are called the Masquerader, the Misfeasor and the clandestine user. A Masquerader is someone who is not authorized but gains access and infiltrates your systems access controls to exploit your account ("Windows 7 Known Security Flaws", 2009). A Misfeasor is a person who has been granted access to data and resources but misuses and takes advantage of the information he has received ("Windows 7...

The Challenges Faced in Our Most Extreme Healthcare Facilities

...Health Care Delivery Systems  Ja*** Sta*****   04/12/2011  Health Care Delivery Systems  Exam Paper  The challenges faced in our most extreme healthcare facilities The Dialysis, Correctional, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse health care facilities are four very diverse settings in many ways. Yet in others they are similar. They represent many of the aspects of society that are orphaned, discarded, or swept under the rug, challenging both the caregiver and patient alike. Each represents an environment of extremes. Professionals must exercise the highest degree of vigilance in order to successfully provide patients with the care they need under the unique circumstances that each environment presents. In many ways each one of these facilities has a captive cliental with little or no choice but to be compliant or face dire consequences. In the dialysis setting compliance is enforced by the simple fact treatment is necessary to maintain their life. The correctional setting is harsh and restrictive with many imposed limitations, presenting the potential for serious health risk to inmate and care provider alike. The mental health facility is challenged by the lack of stability within the mind of the patient who is viewed as having “disordered thinking” presenting healthcare providers with the challenge of helping someone who is unable to follow orders or unwilling to even be treated. Substance abuse facilities have a patient base of substance dependent clients who present many...

...Describe with empirical evidence the client’s characteristics that affect therapy outcome. Psychotherapy and Older Adults Resource Guide Introduction Since about 1990, changes in the Medicare reimbursement system have allowed psychologists to provide services to older adults with Medicare coverage. These changes, in combination with managed care and market place changes have made older adult clients attractive as a client population to increasing numbers of psychologists and other mental health service providers. As the Baby Boomers become older adults over the next several years, one can expect both the need and the demand for mental health services to increase: Need is likely to change because Boomers have higher prevalence of depression and other mental disorders than do the GI Generation and Depression era cohorts; Demand may change because Boomers have typically been psychologically minded and relatively high consumers of mental health services. Key questions in thinking about working with older adults concern whether psychological interventions can be expected to work with older adults. If they work, are adaptations from work with younger adults necessary? In this resource page, research bearing on both of these questions is summarized. Does therapy work with older adults? Before turning to psychological interventions, which are the main focus of this resource guide, it should be noted that psychological assessment with older adults is more specialized than are interventions...
